My garden's been growing for a month now and I've enjoyed some small harvests. I have a question about trimming parsley and cilantro. Both have reached the lights which I don't want to raise since other plants are still small. The shoots that have reached the lights are basically a long green shoot with a few leaves at the top. If I cut it down an inch or two, I'll trim the leaves off. With nothing left but the stakl, I assume I've killed that plant? Am I correct? What do I do? Let them hit the lights? Trim them? Where should I cut?

Looking at the picture, you can trim that stalk. It will not kill the plant but that stalk will be gone. I have cut stalks at the base for Parsley and Cilantro and it grows back. But watch the video below first.
As for cutting, I have cut at the stalk. If there are several clusters of leaves, then you can also cut 1/3 way down.
