I figured I would throw some seeds in some sponges and start some projects. These are Marigolds and Vincas. I took this Sprout Seed Starter and a Styrofoam SS6 seed starter(not shown), and because I had no available machines, just floated them in pans of water with a couple of drops of AG nutes. VOILA' ! in just about a week I have seedlings coming up.
I have more styrofoam planting blocks coming from Park this week and other varieties of seeds to start.
If you have used up all your machines..Don't Stop Planting!LOL
You can even place your sponges in a small solo cup with a drop of nutrients and filled with water 1/4 full! Place the cup (sponges propped so that they stand up) in front of an AG machine and they will steal the light and GROW! You can then transplant them in a pot on a window sill, or near an AG for the light.
Resistance IS futile!!! as far as critters are concerned anyway.
Those flowers I started in the sponges which I transplanted outside in boxes..NOW HAVE NO LEAVES AND ONLY HAVE STICKS JUTTING UP OUT OF THE SOIL. The squirrels didn't bother to dig up the sponges, but this is earwig time, and I think they had a banquet for the past 2 nights! I have more started inside, but I think I will put them in hanging pots far away from the ground.
