This Thread is to explain some of the different Photo Repositories one can use to post pictures to the forum. Please take a moment to read this thread, I will update as needed.
Thank you!
Flickr: Below in this post. Funny Junk (One of our member uses this and thought to share)
There are many repositories out there. I personally use Flickr. Some have had a problem figuring it out. I hope this helps.
Flickr Video:
Besides Flickr, (as you will see listed below) there are also Imgur and VGY.
EDITED TO ADD:
If you do not understand the video, please try the following. Note: Areas blackened out to protect users photos.

Where is the “embed “ dialogue on here you refer to in step 4?

That's where you get if you follow steps 1-3. That's still in OneDrive

Do not forget for anyone who needs a repository for photo to post to the forum, there is Flickr (see above for video on how to post get the link). Dawn posted One Drive. As of now unless you are a PhotoBucket Premium Member you can not use this one to link here. So please consider one of the above. I know there are others and if you find any that work on the forum please list. We do have some members that use attachments and as of now we have room to host them. However when we get tight on space I will turn off attachments and then will only be able to use Repositories. If you have any questions, please PM me.

Another one that is super easy is vgy.me. For anyone who posts to the forum from their iPad, some photo repositories won’t work (even the biggest ones) because of limitations inherent with the iPad. But vgy.me works.

Dawn,
Thank you for posting your OneDrive instructions! Now I can put pics in my messages without taking storage space from the board for attachments 😊
The only thing about OneDrive that I am less than happy with is that the OneDrive *app* won’t provide you with the embed code ... that must be done from their website 🤨
But again, at least now I can share pics - woooooohoooo!!!

Yes, it is completely annoying that way and it took a bit of digging around to find even that.

Another one is Tinypic and Imgur. Mary posted that vgy.me was easy as well. Yes, the problem I had was that on the iPad I could not capture the full embed code from Flickr, so I had to find something else, or go on the regular computer (which I hate). I’ve been using vgy.me ever since (and since Photobucket decided to charge us all $400 a year to post here. )

I use tapatalk, which is how i access a couple different forums. Which site would be the best for me to use for posting pics? I assume I cannot simply add photos thru my gallery on phone.

I have not used Tapatalk. We do have members that do use it and I when they log in they may be able to answer that for you.
I prefer not using attachments as it takes up space on the server in which at this time as it is an extra expense to upgrade it. That is why I ask everyone to use a repository.

Excuse my inexperience, so pictures from a phone are considered attachments?

Excuse my inexperience, so pictures from a phone are considered attachments? No, not if you use repositories like Flickr and others listed above. I don’t know anything about the interplay between a repository and Tapatalk though.

Not really sure. Half the time I think TapATalk actually hosts the uploads. Other times I think it's an attachments.

Adding Picture when using TapatalkThere very well may be a better way to add pictures via a repository but I am unaware of it as I do not use TapaTalk. So here is what I was able to figure out. Using Flickr:- You Need a Flickr Acct and then you have the App on your phone or tablet. Select the picture you want. Click on the Share and scroll down to Tapatalk. You need to select the forum (this one) and it will ask you to Create a New Post OR Sent a PM. There is no pick a thread options. The picture will be in the attachment box on the screen. Just type in your post and enter. The picture will be in the post.
Using Imgur: - Download and create/log in to Imgur. Upload your picture. Press and hold the picture to select Share Direct Link. Then Select the Tapatalk. Just like Flickr you need to select the forum (this one) and it will ask you to Create a New Post OR Sent a PM. There is no pick a thread options. The different is the link will show up. You will need to add the
before it and the [\img] after it for the picture to show up. If you do not only the link will be in your post. If you forget, you can Edit the post to add them for it to show.
OR From Tapatalk itself using your Gallery it appears to save to Tapatalk (Thanks to orangetabbys) - Select reply at the bottom of the screen. Then select to add photos, files, videos. Then chose gallery.
