Haven't really been saying much about this garden, largely because I've been neglecting it. I've got a whole bunch of nearly foot long (but curved/bent) kung paos on this thing. I figure I'll harvest them soon, cut them into half inch pieces and dry them for use in stir fry. For reference, pretty much looks like a cayenne. But the special of the day is my FIRST RIPE Aji Pineapple: I just love that color. Closely related to the Aji Lemon Drops that I've been fretting over, but not next to my bed so I don't look at the plant as often. First nibble from the end: Very sweet, and a sort of interesting taste. Seems hotter than I want to eat raw, so I'm going to cut the placenta out for the remainder of the taste test. Unfortunately, and I've read this before, it has a slightly soapy aftertaste that removes from the whole experience. But, as I said, I love the color, and it will probably play well with the lemon drops and Bulgarian carrots in either a hot sauce or a salsa.

Also pretty juicy and my mouth is on fire.
The outer flesh of the pepper doesn't have the funny aftertaste, so maybe that's attached to the hot bits.

Congratulations! That’s a thing of beauty. I wonder if cooking them will ameliorate some of the soapy aftertaste.
