Dawn, would you do me a favor? Would you take a pic of the bottom of the unit. I need to make sure it will work with an induction cooktop, so it need to be flat. I already know it is stainless, that will work.

Just took the weekend's harvest of red jalapenos, put them in the smoker with a TBSP and one half of mesquite.
Truth be told, I probably let them smoke for too long. Some of the smaller ones got crunchy and a bit burned. I put the big ones in a mason jar and brought them to work. As we were eating our breakfast sarnies, I sliced them up and passed them around.

Sorry, mike, I somehow missed your request last night. Still need the picture? I can get to it when I get home tonight.

I opened it. It is as I feared, the surface isn't flat. I will try it this weekend. I have a bunch of peppers I want to smoke. I hope it works.

I hope so too, Mike, as my entire cooktop is induction. I read through myriad reviews to find out if it would work on induction, and the reviews were “totally, no problem!” and “not really “. Extremely interested in your experience.

Sorry I didn't get the picture in time.
It's perfectly reasonable to use it in the oven.

This will have to wait until tomorrow. I spent 60½ hours at work this week. That doesn't include the 1/2 hour drive each way x 6. I'm pooped.

I changed my mind. Wow! You don't want this indoors. I am doing these peppers with hickory at 200° for two hours. They smoke very quickly. I love the smell.

I am glad they smell good. Just don't get yourself smoked out there.

It won't. The first batch I put on my deck, outdoors. The smell can drive my neighbors nuts. I love it.

Well, sort of. The wood powder smoked. But there wasn't much heat to go with it. The small peppers softened. The larger jalapenos didn't. I just put them in a zip-lock bag last night, I haven't tasted them yet. I think I can do these better and more efficiently. I just have to figure out how. One thing is I think you need to smoke like sized peppers.
One thing, though, they do smell very smoky. When I develop any hunger, I'll give them a try. It's too early yet.

I tried a small red jalapeno. I'm not sure I liked it. I ate it, then I dipped some pretzels in hummus. It was very smoky. I'll have to try more later.

Yes, the smaller Jalapenos I tried smoking got way too smokey, but the larger ones were delightful.

Sometimes food can get too smokey. That’s how I feel about Neuske’s bacon. It’s so popular, but the smoke is overwhelming to me.

I have never heard of that. But if it is too smoky I would not want it.

If they are too smokey, I will dehydrate them and grind them to chipotlé powder.
