Hi there! I'm not sure where to post this, but here it is! My breathing got irritated from something about the Ultra LED garden I'd moved to sit on my desk while I work. Has anyone experience -- good or bad -- with having an AG beside your workspace? The Ultra LED is plastic and a bit of an older model. I've never before noticed any smell from my gardens -- other than the plants! This is the first time that I worked beside an AG. The next day, I put it in another room and my breathing is fine (not to worry).
Do you know if the irritant was likely due to the plastic? Or the AG chemical plant food? The garden seemed clean when I planted. The water looks clear, no algae visible.
I hope to figure it out since it was so cheerful to have the light and plants beside me, brightening the whole room!

I have never had issues with odor with the exception of the plants themselves or the water. When did you do a dump and refill last? Maybe try that. What plants are growing, can it be them?

A great possibility could be dust on the top of the hood, dust on the deck or even dust on the LED panel. The heat and movement could stir the whole shebang and get you wheezing! I try to dust and wet wipe down my hood , over and under frequently. I am amazed because I live in a house that has to be swiffered all the time..don;t ask me where it all comes from! But that could be your culprit.

Thank you for this! -I think I'm due to dump and refill in 4 days. It's been about a month since the last. -This garden has lettuces, parsleys, sage and I moved a mint into it. I hoped it would have smelled lovely. (So disappointed it was the opposite!!)

I shall take a dust cloth to the whole thing including undersides. Fingers crossed that that and a dump and refill will fix it. Otherwise, I'm wondering if it's the plastic -- but why it would suddenly off-gas is beyond me~!
