Welcome to AeroGarden Addicts!
Hello, my name is Shawn. I have been an AeroGardener since February 2016. I know that is not all that long at all but I quickly got addicted. I own several different models totaling right now of over a dozen units (I have not counted lately). I really enjoy growing Peppers, Herbs and Flowers. I have learned a lot from others and hope to be able to learn more and share what knowledge I have gained. We have a lot of knowledgeable members as well as new all here to help and learn from each other.
Please do not be shy, post any questions you may have, join in on started conversations or start a new one of your own!
If you are here as a Guest and reading this, I welcome you to register and join in the conversations!
I would also like to take this time to announce that Sher has kindly accepted to be our Welcoming person. Thank you for helping me and welcoming all our wonderful new members!
So with that said, We would love to hear from you all!

Thank you so very much for the Welcome! I am totally new to growing with AG & Hydroponically. I am already learning tons & quickly reaping many benefits from growing some herbs; Basil, Sage, Savory, & Rosemary. I am also growing multiple types of Salad Greens & very tasty I might add! As you can see, I also love the color purple! I am also slowly learning how to use this forum, so when I learn to do so, I will definitely be posting my pics!

Hi, thanks for having me. I have not grown plants indoors since elementary school as a kid. My wife and I just purchased and received a Farm +, and we are looking forward to growing some lettuces and herbs to begin. (not fans of tomatoes_). Neither of us have a green thumb, or have done any outdoor gardening. I like the concept of indoor year round growing, also the concept of some automation and help in a system. I read a lot and watched lots of youtube before ordering. We also liked the Kratky / passive method of hydroponics, but chose to start with aerogarden. Sounds like a good group is here, and the name of the site makes me think I will soon become an addict too!

Welcome kruski ! The great thing about Aerogardens is that no green thumb is needed. You chose perfect crops to start with. I am going to enjoy following your gardening adventures. If you have any questions, please don't be shy about asking. And if you can, post pictures as you go along!
We are so glad you joined us. And we are counting on your becoming an Addict, too!

I have to tell you I had a black thumb prior to getting my first Aerogarden almost 4 years ago. I was amazed that it turned light green. Now almost four years later I have been growing many things I could have never imagined. You will love it! Especially having fresh herbs, veggies, flowers etc all year long. Also happy to have you on the forum. Please share with us your gardens and what you are growing as well as their progress along the way. Ask any questions you may have too! We look forward to hearing more about what you grow

We just planted our first farm!
1. aerogarden brochure says add nutrients now, I swore I read here "no nutes till after germenation". Do I add anything at planting beside a full tank of water? And when should I add them?
2. why do they not ship spacers with a Farm? I wish I knew and would have added them to my order. Right now I am using blue painters tape over the holes, I will ask my buddy to make me some (he is handy)
3. when i insert my seed pods it doesn't feel like it fits perfectly, I rotated it till i got the flatest seat, but it seems quite loose. I guess this doesn't matter much. Same question on the humidity domes, I expected them to click and hold in place. The design seems like it almost would but doesn't. Right now mine domes are balancing on top but a small bump and they fall off. IS this also not a big deal?
Thanks I will post some progress pics later for sure.

And when should I add them? The instructions do say to add nutes when you plant. But everyone was having major problems with algae. In other hydroponic systems you never add nutes until after the first true leaves appear. One of our members ERR0R1755 tried it with the Aerogarden and it completely eliminated the algae problem. Your choice!2. why do they not ship spacers with a Farm? I wish I knew and would have added them to my order. Right now I am using blue painters tape over the holes, I will ask my buddy to make me some (he is handy) So you will buy them separately? 3. when i insert my seed pods it doesn't feel like it fits perfectly, I rotated it till i got the flatest seat, but it seems quite loose. I guess this doesn't matter much. Same question on the humidity domes, I expected them to click and hold in place. The design seems like it almost would but doesn't. Right now mine domes are balancing on top but a small bump and they fall off. IS this also not a big deal? That is normal to have to jiggle the baskets into place. I notice that the newer baskets fit better in the newer machines. There must have been a slight change in hole size design. I really don't know. My guess with the pod covers is so they will not completely restrict air circulation. But that is just a guess. Maybe someone else will have a more knowledgeable answer for you. Thanks I will post some progress pics later for sure. I am looking forward to seeing them!

Hello all! I currently have two Aerogardens (a farm currently planted 1/2 lettuces, 1/2 herbs) and a bounty with a fairy eggplant bullying everything else out of existence. I also happen to have a harvest showing up on Friday, because I couldn't resist. I'm a newbie, in that I jumped in early April, and now I'm learning all the things I should have done originally. But it's fun and I am enjoying the fresh produce, even if my crops aren't as good as they can be yet. I'm looking to expand into cucumbers, melons, and other things soon. Maybe even some flowers. (Nasturtiums I think first).
I also have an Aquasprouts garden over a 10 gallon fishtank.

Welcome, Gr! I lauged out loud when I read about your Fairy Tale eggplant bullying everything else of existance! It's true -- they do!
Everyone has some crops that do well, and some that don't. We learn as we go along.
Your Farm is uncharted territory to me. I just have Bounties and Harvests, which I just love. But there are lots of people here who can help you with that if you have questions.
I would love to see a picture of your Aquasprouts garden. That's new to me, too.
So as you learn, you can be teaching us, too!
So glad you are here!

SO you have a bullying eggplant I see LOL. I have yet to grow those but maybe one day. I too do not have a farm so I will let those that do help if needed. As you grow more and read the forum more as well as experiment you will find what works well for you. When you do you will run with it and do great. Please share your pictures and remember to ask questions, comment of already started threads and share as your plants grow.
