I have a Sprout that I used to grow lavender, and during that grow it started to get a light blue hexagon-like mold in the tank. After I ended that grow, I sprayed down the entire Sprout with bleach water, and now the mold is back.
Any advice on how to get rid of mold in an AeroGarden?

Did you let it totally dry out before using?
Besides bleach sitting in the bowl how else did you clean it?

I use boiling hot water as well as bleach and Dawn detergent to sanitize.. Also try more frequent water changes during the project. I have never really had mold inside the tank, but occasionally white fuzz on the sponges..nothing invasive. Could it be from spores on another source in the room? Sounds creepy.

I didn't - all I did was wash it outside with the hose, spray it down with watered down bleach and let it sit for 15 minutes, rinse it out again with the hose, and then wash it indoors with soap. I had a wasp that somehow got into the tank initially and died, which was the source of the mold. I have another AeroGarden in the same room and that one has been doing fine, so I think it was still in the tank...

I never had that type of crystalline mold. But like Corinne, I wash with really hot water and Dawn dish detergent and also have used the Lysol Cleaning stuff prior to the Dawn. Then rinse rinse rinse well and run it thru a cycle or two using the pump.

I think I'll try soaking it in bleach water, then pouring boiling water throughout it, and finally a dishwasher run.

Out of curiosity, are you opening up the lid when you clean? (I know it's possible with the Harvest unit, not sure about the Sprout.)
And when you let things soak in a bleach solution, do you also connect it back to the base and turn it on to let the solution cycle through everything? It's quite possible that some residual mold is surviving in the motor, in the connecting tube or in the lid.

The Sprout is a bit odd in that the lid is one piece (no water channels) and there's no pump - just a bubbler in the front of it.

That bubbler can come out and be cleaned too..I think it either unscrews or you na yank it out, but it does get clogged every once in a while and needs cleaning. It is a great hiding place for spores, etc.

I have also seen recommendations to soak aquarium air stones in hydrogen peroxide. It helps bubble out embedded gunk.
