What I like to do is start pods in a cup/glass/bowl filled with water, and then move them to my AeroGarden once they germinate. That way, I can give nutrients to the plant in my AG without worrying about algae building up on the new pods.
I don't see any algae in the picture, but if it's just on the outside, you could put some hydrogen peroxide on a Q-Tip or cloth and use it to wipe it down.

I decided what to do. I added two Black Seeded Simpson, one Red Sails, two Marvel of 4 Seasons and two Parris Island lettuce plants.  |

That is the same strategy used in square foot soil gardening. Grow quick maturing plants like radishes and lettuces between the slower growing, larger plants.
That makes the Farm hydroponic square foot gardening!
I love the increase in productivity!
