Added a squirt of hydrogen peroxide and cleaned up the plant. The leaves, branches, and flowers went to the chickens. Here's the before and after pictures:   |

I guess the leaves of Pickling Peppers are okay to eat? I know some are not.

I guess the leaves of Pickling Peppers are okay to eat? I know some are not. I think bell peppers are the only ones that can be dangerous, and other nightshade plants. Anything in the Capsicum family is safe even for humans to eat, and they're often used as seasoning in the Philippines. I'd recommend doing your own research before eating them, but since our chickens eat the pepper leaves when they're free ranging and have plenty of other options, I assume they do fine with them  |

Thank you! I think it was an AG Planting Guide (page 7) that gave that warning. They didn't specify beyond the plant being a pepper. I fret the dogs more than anything. I'm satisfied with the fruit of the plant!  |

I had no clue about bell pepper leaves. I know any hot ones. Piper has had a few but we got them from her pretty fast.
