I have one little chive seed that germinated so far. I put a lot in to get a full pod, we shall see.

Good luck! That has worked for me.
Judging from the pictures of your Farm chives, it has definitely worked for you, too.

Still waiting on the left side to do something but then again cilantro can take its sweet time. I am also still waiting on a delivery of the new seeds.

This morning I planted the Confetti Cilantro and Garlic Chives in the Left side. On the Right I planted the Greek Oregano. All are Burpee seeds. I have more coming from a different vendor.

I need to go and look into each on the left. I may have to replant several seeds after starting in paper towels. The chives and parsley have germinated.

This morning I will be placing new Cilantro and Parsley seeds in paper towels to sprout. What I have now I think are too low in the sponge and no good any longer. So once I get a root on each seed in paper towels I will then place in a sponge.
I will post a picture of them later.

All my Cilantro seeds are softening nicely in their baggies. Soon I hope to see some teeny roots forming.
As for the right side, here are my two Basil and the Oregano. I did top the larger basil already.

The cilantro seeds in ziplocs are just now starting to root. Hopefully in the next couple of days I will place into sponges.

Off to doctors but when I return I am re-doing the left side. I will clean out the basin and plant new items. I will move the Chives I have to the right side as I have room there.
I will also be plan ting new basil on the right side. I gave my friend what I had growing. She is making dinner for her family and said she would love to use Fresh Basil. I do not mind as I have plenty in the freezer and love growing new as it grows fast.

SO I took the chives and placed them in the Right side of my Farm with Basil and Oregano. The left side I will get cleaned and sanitized. I will do the same with the right, right before surgery. I will plant all new herbs then so bu the time I can do things, they will be coming up (approx 2-3 weeks). Even then they do not need much tending to.

Sounds like a good and well thought out plan. And, I cannot think of a better distraction! Any ideas for what herbs you'll plant? Will it be time for Thyme? I think I remember that you like to plant Thyme in the fall for holiday cooking? Or, do I mis-remember?
