Machine: Bounty Basic Seeds: Calibrachoa pelleted Variety: Paradise Island Vendor: Park Seed Sponges: Park Seed Nutes: None to start
I am a little concerned about these seeds. I was supposed to get 5 pelleted seeds. I actually got two whole pellets, one pellet with a hole in the top, and two halves.
There are supposed to be several seeds in each pellet. Maybe the halves have enough almost invisible seeds to sprout.
If at least two sprout, I can separate them into other pods, because thry are supposed to be short, wide, spiller plants. If they all sprouted, it would get way too crowded.

Did you contact Park Seed about them?

I am going to wait and see. They sprawl so widely that 2 would overflow the Bounty. If I get 3, it will be great.

We are supposed to get hit with 6" of rain from TS Claudette tomorrow. So, in the event we lose power, I thought I'd get a photo of the one little Calibrachoa that has sprouted up today.
BTW, the half pelleted seeds swelled, and each had 4 seeds in them. The whole pellets had more.

I hope you do not have any outages. Keep us posted.
AS for pelleted, there are 99% of the time a lot of seeds in them.

Being without power is a pain! Wishing you blue skies, soon! Can you cook if power is out?

Yes, we cook with propane. We also have propane and butane camp stoves and grills.
What we don't have is our well water (no pump power) and no AC! So it gets hot, sticky and muggy!

Yuck! 3 of my most un-favorite things: hot, sticky & muggy! And no shower, on top of that! Here's to NO loss of power!!!

campingcorgis, no toilet flushing either. Unless we fill the bathtub up before the power outage and pour pots of water into the toilet rather forcefully!

We do have an emergency bucket set-up...but, before that, we do have the RV. Off to help with a food drive! Wish us lots of food for the Food Bank!

How did you make out with the storm?
So far, just some rain. The most is supposed to hit this afternoon. Not much wind. Mostly rain. Then we will probably get sporadic thunderstorms throughout the week.
The tree people came out and took a look. They said that dead tree is too far away from the house to cause much damage if it falls. They will be taking down 6 trees that are endangering the house. There are two more in the back that are shading out my garden area.
I wanted those two removed, too, but that will run the cost up from $3600 to $4800. So I'll just stick with the ones that are endangering the house.
They said everyine is scared. They are running 3 weeks behind at this point.
Peoole who do not live in the country have no idea how quickly the forest can overtake the land. Our yard is a fraction of the huge size it was when we moved here 22 years ago.
I've lost my sunset views, views of the hills out of our back yard, and enough sunny space for full sun gardens.
At least with more sun, I can plant more flowers in the front yard.

Will you get your views back?

No. The gorgeous views are all in the back. It would cost thousands to get them back.
In the front is a cow pasture and a hay barn -- which was solid woods when we moved in.

In California, we lost our view of the fireworks show from the local high school, when a neighbors tree grew tall enough to block the view. Here, we've lost the view of a neighbors' house, due to their trees, so big deal. Over the years, we've taken down a few trees, due to their health. One I was very sorry to loose, another, not so much. That one was out front and only looked good for one month out of the year...from THE OTHER side of the street. LOL. So, I wasn't sorry to see it go. Take care & here's hoping the crew gets to those trees soon!

I'n not sure how the calabrachoas are doing. The ones that are up remain tiny.
I guess this is a wait and see project.
