Setting the stage! AG Bounty machines have been cleaned and set up in the kitchen...gotta do these things when there's a bit of time!

I had a little time, since I don't have to cook dinner tonight (club meeting night)...so I pulled out the kits and got them situated in their new AG Bounty homes. Mountain Meadows kit is in the Right-Hand garden and English Cottage is in the Left-Hand garden. Water to be added on 11/14 or +, along with plugging them in and doing the "Quick Plant" set up. I'll pull each pod out and soak it in a glass of water, just to be sure that they have a good start!

Mikey caught me looking down into the hole in the pods and said, "they can't be sprouting already!" I agreed, but told him that first thing to see will be the seeds starting to swell up...and that's what I'm checking to see. I think I can see one Phlox seed starting something.

There are itty-bitty things showing in 1 Phlox, 1 Lavender and 1 Gazania too!

Day 4: I believe every pod has germinated, except the snap dragons. Of course, there are more snap dragons (7) than anything else. Phlox, Dianthus, Gazania, Lavender and Stock too.

Day 10: I've got like 3 snapdragons, 1 phlox and 1 gazania that do NOT see to have any activity. I'll give it a little more time (maybe)...but, thought I would ask: is it breaking any rules to add some seeds or change out some pods?

I say, go for it! It's a shame to waste the growing time if the seeds don't germinate. It's Shawn's call, of course. My gazania has sprouted, but it looks like the coreopsis may not germinate. I have to give it at least 14 days, though.

Day 17: Kind of discouraged. Disappointed with English Cottage kit. Only 3 out of nine seem to be growing. Considering replacing the other 6 with "Stock" from the Spring Flowers kit. Is it too late? 1 stock, 1 dianthus and one snapdragon (iffy on the snapdragon)... In the Mountain Meadows garden, 1 gazania didn't germinate and 1 snapdragon. I put SOB (some-other-brand) seeds into the AG pod and they all seem to have germinated. So, maybe I should use one of the "Stock" from the Spring Flowers kit in that spot?

Adding something to the empty spaces seems like a good idea to me, campingcorgis. When I add seeds late, I try not to raise the lights until I absolutely have to. Of course, if I want the other pods to grow tall, then I just let the latecomers catch up as best they can. Your flowers are looking much farther advanced than most of mine. Maybe I'll post a photo tomorrow.

While some of the Stock is coming up, the left-hand garden remains slow and it is a tad depressing too. I'm thinking of ending it soon & letting the right-hand garden shine!

The right hand garden is flourishing!
Your depressing garden is the reason I always start two gardens on flower GALS. I have had too many failures to chance just one.

Your depressing garden is the reason I always start two gardens on flower GALS. I have had too many failures to chance just one. Thank you Sher! It is nice to know that I'm in good company! I've moved the left garden to the Office. This way, I don't have to walk by it a zillion times a day, or have it be the first thing I see in the morning! From there, I'll figure out what to do with it. I'm also considering options for starting more lettuce. I think I'll end the one that doesn't have much left and start that one over. I sooooo don't want to be without homegrown lettuce. At least, not for long. We love it and it frees up so much space in the fridge too. Space that is much needed at holiday times! I'm reconsidering my Christmas Eve dinner!
