Using my Farm 24 Basic to do the GAL on one side and greens on the other side! Because I still want more greens in my diet and I've never had Bok Choy or Tatsoi before. So! Left side on the front row are Violas - left to right Bunny Ears, Johnny Jump Up, and Purple Picolee. On the back row are marigolds - left to right Super Hero Yellow, Janie Deep Orange, and Janie Yellow:  Right side is three Tatsoi in the back row and three Bok Choy on the front row!  |

I think you'll love both greens. I've grown tatsoi outside and it grew 18" wide! It will probably be much better behaved in the AG.
And the color flowers you chose will be an eye-catching, perfect contrast!

I can see them already! They will be beautiful. I used to grow a similar combo in pots, down in L.A. Always from plants purchased at the local nursery. I'm anxious to see yours!

The marigolds are all up!!  As are both rows of the greens I'm growing with them!  And on that note, to the folks who've grown them - do bok choy and tatsoi need to be thinned down to one plant per pod? Because it looks like all the seeds I put in all the pods decided to come up!! There is movement in all the viola pods, but nothing I can take a photo of yet. |

The violas all, just barely, have enough green to show off!!
On the other pods, thinned everything down to 1 plant per pod! And nibbled on the sprouts thinned from the bok choy and tatsoi, they were pretty tasty!

Did a little check-in on the plants tonight - been busy busy all weekend!!
The flowers!! The marigolds are getting bigger, and the violas have all peaked over the tops of their pods -
And the greens!! I was worried that I'd done some damage, as being in a hurry while thinning them last time around made me a bit careless. But they've all perked up and are doing well!!

The flowers are coming along pretty well!!
And the greens have gotten pretty big!! Took a leaf from one of the bok choy, and really enjoyed to super-fresh crunch! It was also very tasty

Woke up this morning realizing I forgot to post pics of my marigold blooms! It’s going to be in the 70s here on Christmas, and up to 80 today and the day after Christmas. Record highs!! Which, I don’t particularly like snow, but being able to run around outside in short sleeves in December feels wrong lol |

I remember living in CA and seeing the weather reports on TV...inevitably, they would show people at the beach on Christmas Day and New Year's Day...and people start packing to move to CA! Up here, many, many people run around in shorts and t-shirts, as long as the temps are over 40! They used to have a TV commercial about it...something about "we're a little different." LOL. While I'm good with just a sweatshirt or sweater for anything above 40, I'm not wearing shorts! |
