The funny thing is, the cold is gone, the pain is minimal without pain medication, but the bruising continues to get worse. Every time I walk by the mirror it looks like I've had a bout with Mike Tyson. I still have my ears, though.

When I fell down the stairs a few years back due to the eyeglasses, I went face first into a wall at the bottom. I looked like a Panda for several weeks. Eventually the red turns purple and then begins to fade bit by bit, but lots of ice speeds things up.

I'm not doing badly. My doctors office called me in for another appointment today. She too wanted to check on my progress. They did do more blood tests today. Also, my eye coloration is fading. You can see the white in the eye again. I think the black eye will be there a while, though.

The eye is looking better. As for the test, please keep us posted. Women have to frantically go out and buy a good concealer makeup. Men can flaunt their bruises and look MACHO!
Keep us posted,Mike.

The black eye doesn't bother me. But the roads are terrible the last week. I just returned from the pharmacy and the roads are worse the the entire last week. It just keeps snowing. That super fine, super slippery stuff. And it's too cold outside for the salt to work.
I feel like staying indoors the next four days.

That's certainly what I've been trying to do with the week. Went out Tuesday morning on an errand and it was a total skating rink. My car has 4wd, but it also has 4 wheel skid and 4 wheel stop (or not) just like any other car. With exceedingly low profile, not all-weather tires on the car, I have to say it's a total handful on bad roads.
Then again, if there isn't much traffic, there's some degree of sport in making your car do things that physics on a warmer day would normally preclude.

Below Zero wind chill here well into next week! Fortunately the snow on the way will be mostly toward the Vineyard other cape Islands.

We will be getting snow tomorrow and hopefully it will be fluffy like they predict. But it is too darn cold for me AND for my baby. Proxy does not like the cold even with her coats on.

I knew a gal who had twin dogs. She used to dress them up for every holiday. They were usually pilgrims on Thanksgiving and had a new Halloween costume all the time. Proxy is adorable in that little Santa's Helper outfit!

Thanks. The only dressing up she does now is a redskins shirt and her winter sweatshirt. The hat I could not get on her this year. She is my precious pup.

You need to swap that out for a REAL shirt - the Ravens! (At least its better than a Steelers jersey *barf*) Just joking - all in good fun ... I don't think I’ve even watched a whole game this year; just couldn't get into it this year I guess.

Please don't follow in my footsteps. I'm facing a weekend of re-mixing and replenishing about 25 gallons of nutes. I have spent the last two weeks with a lot level cold that at times, has me flat on my back due to dizziness from ear infection and has had me sleeping about 16 hours a day, and I'm just now learning the one thing that any farmer knows: there is no vacation from the plants. I REALLY want to skip this week, but I've already got Extras blinking LEDs at me, and I've had to top off a bunch of stuff just to get the pumps to quiet down and I still don't really feel like getting out of bed. This is what happens when you decide to buy a berjillion aerogardens and half a dozen DWC/Drip buckets virtually all at once. And now, I'm losing some plants because I haven't kept up with my pruning. I am well and truly in over my head at this point. To be fair, I have tons of spicy little pods around here to add to anything I might want to cook and I love the creativity that allows. But, it's coming at a price. Last year at this time, I was planning on doing a bit of travelling, but ultimately cancelled because of garden maintenance. This year, going to the supermarket is almost out of the question. For all of you who are buying up Aerogardens even faster than I did: I know your enthusiasm, but try living with them for a while before heading even deeper. I suppose my "waterloo" was the purchase of these two 13 gal planters (EcoGrower, aka "Pepper Pot" and Rainforest, aka "Pepper Pot Deux") and two of the three Power Grower buckets. As cheap and as simple as they have been, I'm not all there for the maintenance it involves. I am, after all, just a few years from retirement and frankly, my full time job with its crippling commute already is enough activity for one week. Even still, I found myself cruising web sites, looking at Ebb & Flow setups and grow tents, and OMG, what the flock am I doing? I can't keep up with what I already have! Hello. I'm Dawn. I am a hydrohaulic. I think I might take a spring break from this in a couple months. I look longingly at my cilantro, delighted in its flavor, and somewhat happy knowing that cilantro in my care never lasts that long, so it won't be a long-term commitment like my 14 month old Jalapeno plant. Maybe more simple stuff. Toms and Cukes and ... oh wait. Dammit. I was searching for something else and this thread popped up. OMG, I could have written this post. In June I owned 5 AG countertop models. Since then I have gone hog-wild with this AG thing and currently own 23 countertop models and a Farm. Two of the gardens, a Bounty and a Harvest Slim Elite, are still new in their shipping boxes.
I am currently suffering from AG-overload and experiencing a decided lack of enthusiasm. I wistfully recall that thrill I had from watching a single garden grow herbs and kind of wish I could return to that simpler time.
Of course this is typical behavior for me. I always jump in before considering the depth of the pool. My hobby has turned into a full-time job.

slw, Right now I have two vacant Farm 12XLs, a vacant Farm Plus, three vacant Bounty Elites, and two vacant Harvests, plus a few more AGs in storage in the garage. Now that I've found my daily AG comfort level (3 Farm 12XLs, 6 Bounty Elites), the maintenance isn't much of a chore. I can always replant one of the vacant gardens if I'm eager to try something new! The one thing you can't really plan around is a personal emergency that makes AG maintenance impossible. That has happened to me a couple of times, but I've been able to send somebody to unplug the gardens pending my return home.

Hi Dawn! I'm totally guilty. I overwhelmed myself years ago, and stopped using any of my AGs for 15 years. In my defense, I did have a round of assorted physical issues for a period of time, but mostly, I just was running too many at once and got tired of it. Since, I donated all the 3-pod units that I never really liked that well to the local thrift stores, and one 6-pod as well. Kept the first AG, a classic 7, because I like the grow deck configuration. The other models I have are the old airstone varieties, if the pump in any of the bases goes, I don't think it's meant to be user replaceable and I'm not handy with electronics repair. However, the grow bowls and decks on those, not having anything but the airstone to deal with, are at least easy to keep clean! All that said, I totally, totally, could not resist an Amazon sale of a Harvest Slim Elite ($48.11 plus a packet of seeds) three weeks ago and today, a regular Bounty from the AG ($135). So now there will be two LED models along with the fluorescent guys. Hydrohaulics Anonymous here I come! I think I will limit myself to how many I have active at once. First project is to deep clean/inspect/test the rest of the gardens, and then put them in plastic bags to keep dust out until I want to use them! I think there might even be one new-in-box garden down in the basement, LOL!

As I got them I had some going and some not in a piecemeal fashion. It can be that s*** happens and the Aerogardens are unattended for too long.
