Hope this was not a mistake.. not sure I am going to be happy about giving up the space in the basement, but need more room that is somewhat temperature controllable.. So I bought this www.ebay.com/itm/154583289106Did a bunch of googles and it is really hard to know what I really need. Hope It will be useful.. At least I think I can grow more than one thing in it.. .

That looks like a perfect purchase for you! You are so good with complicated garden setups, and the tent should open up more possibilities for experimentation. I for one can't wait to see what you do with it!

+1 on what lynnee said above! It looks very cool! I've seen similar items at our local hydroponics store. Admittedly, they tend to cater a different group of hydroponic growers...but hey, I'm sure it will work just fine for you too!

Based on my grow tent experience, that is a very nice purchase, airscapes.

Based on my grow tent experience, that is a very nice purchase, airscapes . I thought I remembered someone having one. What can you tell me about the pros and cons and things you learned? or point me to a thread if you you have already posted it. I am in the basement now trying to rearrange things to make it fit. My nephew is going to need a really really big dumpster when my wife and die!

The main thing is ventilation. I had a larger fan lying on top of the hole in top, one small fan blowing in over the lights, and another blowing out on the other side above the lights. It gets hot up there.
I also had a small fan blowing in at one bottom vent to help prevent edema.
Since yours is in your basement, you will probably not be dealing with as much excess heat as I was.
I tracked tempurature and humidity. My A/C made it dry in there, so at times I had to run a small humidifier. Again, you probably won't have that problem in your basement.
Just guessing. I have never had a basement. Back home in Florida, the water table was way too high.

Thanks! I was kind of concerned that it would be too cold with the exhaust fan running but I guess it will be wait and see. Not sure how many lights or plants I can get in there.. I would like to grow 3 different varieties. Ellie at Bunny Hop suggested I grow the heritageseedmarket.com/index.php/product/nano-ciliegia/ after explaining my wife's likes in tomatoes. This one get about 3' tall so was going to use my 2 bucket system for that one. Then I would like to grow heritageseedmarket.com/index.php/product/lille-lise-gift-only-with-order/ in the tub. And if somehow I could get it in there the Bounty like DIY with one of the others that are less then 16" tall .. But laying this out on floor.. does not look like it can be done very effectively in the 3x3 space. Then trying to figure out how to support the plants if I get them all in there.. Basement is probably in the mid 60s and not too humid... Have ordered a small temperature control device I used on my 3d printer enclosure. It lets you control heat and cooling so I can have a temp set to turn on and off the exhaust fan, and a range to turn on a small heater if it turns out I need it. Also need to figure out what oscillating fans to buy to move the air around in the tent.. As you say, it is going to get hot up top.. .. I told myself that growing tomatoes in the house was not worth it.. but here I am spending more money then we would ever eat in tomatoes this winter Oh and they won't be ready till March at this rate!

Well, airscapes, as they say, idle hands are the devil's workshop. You aren't in any danger with that! Your project sounds wonderful! I will enjoy hearing and seeing this one!

airscapes , I always say that growing stuff in AGs is a hobby! I don't have to justify the cost if I'm having fun with it! The fact that we grow lettuce, tomatoes, herbs, peppers, and other veggies that taste fresher and better than store-bought is just a bonus!

I have two grow tents, and the biggest danger... is forgetting that you have a plant in them! I had started some lettuce in a gallon jug (Kratky style) in one tent, and forget about it... came back a few months later to dried lettuce and a very tall flower stem

I had started some lettuce in a gallon jug (Kratky style) in one tent, and forget about it... came back a few months later to dried lettuce and a very tall flower stem I don't think I could forget.. even if I wanted to! It is going to take up a good chunk of what little open space is left in my basement.. I am down there daily for this and that so no chance.. Man, Inflation is really kicking.. 6" oscillating fan $47.. 3 shelf wire rack that was $25 in Feb is now $42.. Say What! Time to hit the thrift stores..

FedEx dropped off a box!! Really want to open it up and set it up, but too many Holiday Chores are in the way Maybe tomorrow or Sunday. Hope I am not sorry I bought the less expensive tent.. I normally don't get the cheapest on things like this, but this time I did..

Should have opened the box yesterday.. they only sent me the tent, no ventilation kit and of course no one was working today.. So I set it up. Was not impressed with just the skinny metal rods assembled, but once the cover went on, it got much more solid.. Will see what happens with the missing parts.. may ask them to upgrade me to a 6" fan kit since they ruined Christmas!!

airscapes, the Grow Tent looks really nice! Too bad that they left out the ventilation kit. (Now I want a grow tent, but of course I have absolutely no space for one.) I love your photos. It looks like it was something of a job to get even the tent set up.

What a cool video! That guy is impressive. It still looks like it would take a lot of clambering around. Skinny rods and all, it looks like a pretty good product, if it provides the insulation needed.

What a cool video! That guy is impressive. It still looks like it would take a lot of clambering around. Skinny rods and all, it looks like a pretty good product, if it provides the insulation needed. It really was about as easy as he made it look once I figured out the longest rods were not the same as the longest rods in the picture on the instruction sheet, there were letters printed in very light color on the rod that matched the instruction written word. Wow! I'm impressed! They actually got back to you on Christmas Eve! They could have used "the holidays" as an excuse to delay a reply...

Wow! I'm impressed! They actually got back to you on Christmas Eve! They could have used "the holidays" as an excuse to delay a reply... Not Christmas Eve 3am Christmas Morning the mail came in! And yes, I sent them a very nice mail thanking them for getting back to me on the holiday as I did not expect to hear from them till next week.. In a way I am again disappointed, had they actually screwed up the order, I was going to ask for an upgrade to the 6" kit, even if I had to pay a little more. I am concerned that the 200CFM 4" fan will not be enough .. I don't plan on using the filter as there is no stink from tomatoes, so hopefully without the filter restriction it will move enough air to keep edema at a minimum. Still need to figure out an oscillating fan for the inside, the Vivosun unit is out of stock and I think a bit inflated in price.. I can probably find something up in the attic that will work! They only give you 2 cross bars for hanging the fan and lights.. found some 1/2" tubing in the garage and designed and printed hooks so they work just like what came with it.. should have fan and lights up by Monday, hope the sees show up in Mondays mail !!

Got my Heritage seeds today and put in 2 each Nano Ciliegia, Lille Lisa and Birdie Rouge in the DIY bounty in the tent with ventilation and heat both controlled by thermostat to maintain 78-81 air temp.. Water is set to run 1 hour every 11 just plain water nothing added at this point..
