Today's project is Super Jericho Lettuce. The other half of the Farm Plus is soaking. I should get them planted this afternoon.
The Super Jericho Lettuce is a smaller variety of the Jericho Lettuce I've been growing. It is only 8 inches tall and has a ten inch diameter. I love this Romaine flavor. The biggest bonus is its heat resistance. With the bulk of the Summer at hand, I don't want to see any wilted lettuce.
I've been making a lot of protein smoothies that I use as a meal substitute. I want fresh greens in there to give me my vegetable requirements for the day.

Doesn't it figure, the pump is dead. I'll have to dig out the spare. I was going to go grab a bite to eat. Another time.

Knowing that you have a dead pump is better than not knowing you have a dead pump.

The new pumps are pretty nice! They have longish cords, so they're suitable for the Farms as well as the smaller models.

Do you make salads with your AG lettuce, mike? Growing a couple of pods in a Bounty, I generally have enough for sandwiches, but not salads.

I usually grow greens on my homemade tote. But now, I have lettuce, Choi and hopefully spinach growing. I can eat a lot of salad. I understand how easy it is to run out.

I usually plant 6 pods in a Harvest. I eat salads for at least 2 weeks. I always try to have some more started before I run out. Sometimes I’ll put twice that amount in a seed starter to use for baby greens. At times I’ll cut the whole plant and let it regrow.

mike have you ever tried Crisp Mint or Yedikule? They are nice romaines. Today I picked up a couple packs of Silvia Romaine. It’s supposed to be all red. Believe it or not, I got them at the dollar store!

No, I usually stick with Jericho. This is the first time with the Super Jericho variety. I like that they can handle the hot Summer without wilting. Jericho is a Romaine with terrific flavor, too.

Take a look at the Joi Choi. Those are 13 days and are even bigger.
