This morning I woke around 3 am, and went to dim the lights on all my AGs. (We're having a heat wave in the S.F. Bay Area, and it helps to keep the garden room a little cooler.) For the first time, I saw the "Waking" message. It came up on the Farms and on the Bounty Elites--the ones with the slider dimmers. The lights are set to come on in the wee smalls, and to turn off at 5 pm to save money on electricity. You all would probably faint if you got an electric bill like our PGE bills! Mine is now $350 or more a month. PGE is passing costs of preventing wildfires on to regular users.  Wow and I thought our $250 a month bill in po-dunk Michigan(Amish central) was bad I guess I will hush up. But on the bright side they informed us to expect higher prices because you know everything else is going up we just have to follow suit....  ................sighhhhhhhhhhh |

My son in Atlanta has $700+ power bills in the summer. That doesn’t include hot water since he has a natural gas tankless hot water heater
My highest bill in Northwest Florida was $450 this summer. I do have a pool so that accounts for some of it. We don’t have different rates at different times of day so there is no way to bring the cost down other than to try and use less power.

We have balanced billing in Houston and pay $340/month year round. We also have a pool and natural gas water heater, furnace, and stove.

Our rates aren't so bad but we use a lot of power... large 2-story house, swimming pool, 2 freezers, 2 refrigerators, central a/c runs 10+ months a year, 9 ceiling fans that run 24x7, entirely too many Aerogardens, etc. |
