I did top them and it worked like a charm. They grew many stalks on their own as well, I look forward to hundreds of peppers!

All very interesting observations. Especially about the number of blooms. Who knew!

Those plants look really good. If a large percentage of those blooms produce fruit, you'll need to come up with a system to support the weight of the fruit. Many of us use binder clips and badge reels. But I don't see a place to clip onto with the farm. The trellis won't be enough. How many plants do you have per side?

It's amazing how loaded with blooms those are. I was thinking the same as Mike's question.

Gosh I never thought of anything to support those. I only had one pepper plant to date that needed support and that was two years ago. Darn, I need to step up my pepper game LOL

It’s only two plants per side, The fans I kept blowing on the plants 24/7 actually made the stalks really thick and sturdy. I’m using the wire supports the farm came with to add extra support right now. I’m noticing about 5 new peppers growing per day and they are growing quite rapidly with the full strength Flora Gro bloom formula I’m using. I’ll use the supports from the other farm when needed, maybe I can order some more from the vendor. They are pretty versatile but can only support inside the frame.

I am not familiar with the support system of the new Farm machines. Is it possible to take a shot or give a word description. Mighty? I can't wait to see the tons of peppers that will result from all those buds!!!

That’s all quite a labor of love, and it shows.
I don’t think anyone here has tried to keep a garden going for a couple of years, probably just because they wanted to try something else, not because it can’t be done. It makes sense to me that you could do it indoors.
The longest I kept a pepper garden going was nearly a year. The yield becomes lower, but other than that it was fine. I got quite a lot of nutrient buildup, though, on the machine over such a long time. Now I know to stay on top of the longer gardens.
I think drbanks has had a pepper garden for over a year.

I recently terminated an AG Jalapeno plant at 18 months, and it really wasn't slowing down.
Underappreciated fact: Peppers are perennials, assuming they don't freeze.

I will keep these beasts going as long as they allow. I will also keep the community up to date on the progress, as usual. I am attempting to germinate some cilantro in my little bounty, with no success. I hear cilantro can be challenging to start hydroponically. 35 days gone by and I’ve given up, I started 6 more today and will see if I get better success. Thanks for the reports on sustaining pepper plants, I hope I can break a record on length of life lol.

Yes cilantro can be tricky. The outer shell is so hard the water often can’t penetrate. You can score it gently with a knife. I often put a bunch in a damp paper towel so I can see which germinate and which don’t, and plant the viable ones.

Just out of curiosity, what do you do with your ghost peppers. I turn mine all into sauce.
