pfunnyjoy , my cherry tomatoes get crispy leaves like your cilantro leaves from time to time. I've been unable to isolate the cause. This morning a previously healthy plant has crispy leaves, and the most likely cause is the weather. It got very cold overnight, so that (1) the location near a cracked-open window got colder, and (2) the furnace ran more often (although the vent in that room is closed). Another possibility is that the plant ran out of nutrients. It was 2 weeks past its R&R date. R&R happened this morning, so we'll see whether lack of nutes caused the dried out leaves. The cilantro is continuing to get dry leaf edges. I'm beginning to wonder if it's just too fussy to grow in winter. Or whether this variety is pickier than some. It can hardly have run out of nutrients in 4 days, there's not been that much new growth. I hope your cherry tomatoes get happier with the nutrition! Mine get some bits of brown on the leaves, but it's fairly minimal and not wide spread, so it's not a worry. And I won't be eating the tomato leaves! The kale in the basement, particularly the more frilly Russian red, also gets a tiny bit of browning on some leaf edges, but it's not enough to worry over. I harvested 3 leaves yesterday to put in some beet/apple/red cabbage/ginger juice. I'm sure ready for winter to be over!

2024-02-19: Day 67Rinse & refill. The plants like their new location much better. Brown spots are still occurring, but nowhere near as many. I’ve had usable cilantro sprigs! And I figured out that I could reset the starting days, so my “goof” is erased like it never happened. I raised the nutrients a little. EC was 0.8 this morning. pH was 8.0! Probably the cause of the remaining brown spotting. I removed most of the brown spotted sprigs, and the garden looks nice! Hubby is fixing to enjoy some with his eggs right now! Nutrients (per gallon): 1.4ml GH CALiMAGic 4.0g GH MaxiGro (approximately a half teaspoon) 5.0ml 3% hydrogen peroxide Nutrient mix pH: 5.5 Nutrient mix EC: 1.4
