Hi everyone. Ive been mia for awhile due to some family ussues. My garden is overgrown but doing well. I get it trimmed and it goes crazy again. The thai basil produces way more than we can use and i have so much frozen ive been tryin to give it away. Anyhoo... I want to prep for my next grow. Im not having much luck finding out how much space lettuce needs. I have the 6pod harvest. Could i grow 3 lettuce and 3 herbs?

Depends. When my lettuce is still small I can do one in each pod, once they get going though I usually do one plant per two pods. It depends somewhat on the specific variety though- I usually grow leaf lettuce which is on the wider wide.

I was going to buy the romaine, salad greens, and baby greens pods.

The romaine grows up instead of out. Baby greens and salad greens are both mixes, so you won't know until it gets going. I would arrange it with the romaine and the herbs in back, and the two unknowns in front. It'll be tight but you will probably be okay if you keep them trimmed. You can always switch things around if the two mystery pods decide to shoot up taller than the herbs.

Another thing to keep in mind is that most herbs grow slower than lettuce, at least at first, so they could get too much shade for a bit. You could try planting the herbs a week ahead of the lettuce and see if that keeps them at about the same pace. I suppose it depends on the type of herb, too.
