Looks like they might have been too close to the lights. Of they were bumped or rubbed against.

looks like you overfed it. I would do a dump and refill with plain water and then add the nutrients on the lighter side in a few days. OR..... Why not use up those big leaves..if the big leaves are old and you are just pinching off the top and using the top, the others will naturally get brown.
yes...what shawn said as well is probably what it is if the hood is too close.

Thanks for the fast replies, Shawn & @cornne . I don't think it was the lights, or the taller basil plant would have gotten hurt the same way, and these two are shorter by about an inch... Yeah, maybe the nutrients were too much. I've been following the guide so far. I'll do both, I'll prune/harvest off those leaves and do a rinse & refill using less nutrients. The instructions say three capfuls, should I cut that in half? I'll also take off the top leaves of my tall Basil plant in case it is the lights, too, and that one just got lucky. (:

It will be clear if it was the lights. If the leaves were almost touching, then they were singeing the leaves and I would leave the nutrient mix as is.

Ok thanks. They were still at least four inches from the lights so I don't think that was the case.
