When I pulled up the cap, water went everywhere. DOH! Hah! Hate when that happens, lol.

OK, a little concerned. I noticed a slight green tinge in the water. No accumulation yet. I poured a splash of Hydrogen Peroxide in the fill hole. A half hour later, the water is clear with a slight film at the top of the fill hole. We shall see.

Wow! I have never seen that before..so thick! I am sure there is something that can cover the hole like foil or something. it would be worth calling and asking for advice on what would fit the bill...perhaps they have something already manufactured after the fact if enough are calling about that problem, Mike.

Very perplexing. When you call I hope the best for you that you get the best person to help, instead of an infant. It always comes down to that.

Post it on their FB with the photo..there may be others who can identify with the photo and help the process of solving along a bit.' Many hands', as they say. More are into the Farms now and someone MUST be having the same woes. I have a feeling AG's solve may be "just don't let the water be so full that it is exposed to the light".

Yes, I've occasionally seen some algae on the top of the fill hole, but I always assumed it was because there was water there exposed directly to strong light. Seemed to subside after the plants grew to maturity, although it may just have been that I couldn't see into the hole as well.

I'm just going to cut some opaque vinyl to lay over the opening.

I decided to cut some foam board instead. I think this will work well.

This is probably better than something opaque. Looks good - I had to try to find it, it blends in so well.

Seems like you have good staggering times amongst your gardens for the plethora of salads in your near future.

I love red habanero peppers. I buy them nearly every week for my chili and sauces. They look great!

Nice! Would you like to adopt a slightly used 60 year old?
