Just out of curiosity, nick, what type of plastic are you using? I s'pose PLA would be perfectly adequate and cheap for the job. I'm right on the verge of printing nylon, which of course requires an all-metal hot end, and some magic stuff to get the print to adhere to the bed. I figure if I can print nylon, that should be an ideal material for tricking out the machines...

If I want to use a different type of material in an FFF printer I'd just need to pay for the cost of the material. I've got access to just about every type of material and printer there is for a small fee if I had a need for them. Our maker labs have SLA, Continuous Fiber, LOM, MJP, and Polyjet 3D printers. We've also cut laser cutters and robotic CNC machines. I used the laser cutter to etch some logos into the aluminum shell of my laptop. That was pretty fun.

That is totally cool! I'm stuck with what I can personally afford :( I might have given in on a 3D printer by now if not for the access at work. I am well aware of how fortunate that is and that’s one of the reasons I want to help folks here when I can.

Ohh very nice nick ! i finally found the source of these nice port covers i've seen in people's photos. It's so odd that Aerogarden wouldn't include covers for these already. I'd love to request 8 of them for my Farm and Farm Plus units. I'll send you a PM

Hi there Ya'll. First post here and a new owner of the Farm plus. I wanted to print out a couple of those covers and downloaded the STL from Thingiverse but it will not slice correctly. It only prints out the tab on the bottom. It will not print out the top cover and it does not even see it in the slicer. I even re-downloaded the file but it still does the same thing. Any help would be Great!!!

Hi there. I just grabbed the files from Thingiverse and sliced them again to verify that it still works for me. Everything seems okay on my end.
Are you slicing the file with two covers or a single cover?
I wish I could offer more help but I truly have no clue as to why it wouldn’t slice properly. You’re the first person that’s reported any trouble with the file and I know others have printed it.

I tried both files and I finally had to import it to meshmixer to repair the mesh. I even tried 3 different slicers and that didn't work either. It's printing now! Thank you for the file!!!
