Me neither. Looks interesting, with cameras in addition to lights and apparently some kind of pump to circulate water vertically. It's basically a "living wall", priced around $900. Gardyn link |

I'd seen and considered it before, but eventually decided I didn't have space for it (not that you could tell that I have space issues from my recent purchase lol). I think it's a really cool concept, and would love to see it in action with someone that's not trying to sell it!!

My thought was that it looked productive for lettuce and herbs but I'm not sure how it would work for peppers or tomatoes. How would you trellis a heavy tomato plant?

Does the Gardyn promotional material show any units bearing tomatoes? That should answer the question of whether it can be done. Tomatoes do grow vertically, as rows of single vines on vertical cords, in commercial hydroponic setups. However, the roots are at the bottom of each plant (not placed in higher-up openings).  |
