I have 2 bountys, older style without working light hoods. My fix was 45watt AG light panel and, the Adapter for connecting power supply of said light panel to the Bounty. www.amazon.com/dp/B001IZ0W5Y?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=120231222_192543 by I also have worked on the Bounty light hood itself after discovering the light panel was ok , just the power supply was broken. Removing the power supply from the light hood is about as easy as taking your water pump out and removing the roots and, cleaning the pump. Just more screws involved. 20240406_084508 by This is the power supply I purchased for that as it will hook directly up to the Bounty and ,has the female connector for your light hood. This repair is much cheaper ,$20 vs the AG 45w light panel and power supply adapter/connector. They both seem to work well. Anyway as these units age things will fail hopefully this will save a few old Bounty's from the landfill. If you have an older bounty and it is broken I will gladly take it off your hands. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B095VWHPCC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1 20240406_084444 by

LoveSalads, that is a really valuable post! I'm extremely interested in keeping my existing AGs going for as long as possible, now that the new models are coming out (only the Harvest 2.0 for now).

When you used the Aerogarden light in the top pic, how did you mount it so that it is that high? My Ultra LED light is not working again and that unit is the same as the old style Bounty but with less holes on the grow deck. Also, in the 2nd pic you mounted the non-working light hood and just used the power supply in the link to connect the original Bounty hood to the Bounty instead of the cord that Aerogarden uses? Thanks for posting this. Its very useful.

Thanks for the info. What I was asking about the power supply. The power supply you purchased from Amazon - do you plug it into the light hood or into the base? I have a 45 watt Aerogarden light attached to a jump start system like you show in your link but it hangs way too low. I will try to figure something out with pvc pipe like you did. I had been focusing on how to lift the jump start light higher but maybe I need to focus on using the pvc pipe to make a taller stand. Thanks for your help

Thanks for your help I have several jump starts. I used 3/4 inch conduit, 2- 5 foot pieces so you only have to buy 1 10 foot piece(std size). At the top and bottom you square your round conduit using channel locks or, vice grips and slowly squeeze till it squares off. Then It will fit the jump start hardware like it was made for it. Or you can buy 3/4 inch 600psi pvc pipe(red letter stuff) and no messing around, fit the jump start hardware. No modification needed. It makes both those stands 5 feet which is plenty for most all my needs. One jump start I went 6 foot it became less stable. ooooooooops The power supply plugs into the Aerogarden. The cord going from your Aerogarden to the light hood is the one you plug into the power supply I bought from amazon. That power supply has its own cable you plug into the light hood after you pull the power supply out of said light hood and wire the leds to the connector supplied with the power supply bought off amazon. It is less work just buying the AG 45w light panel and the adapter and hooking it up that way but, I liked only spending $20 vs probably over $100 depending on sale prices or lack there of.

The fix where I removed the internal power supply from the light hood and hook up an external supply a $20 brick from amazon. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B095VWHPCC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1It is super bright so I decided to check the wattage it was using. I have never had a light hood this bright. 20240409_220927 This should be a great light for growing peppers and taller cherry toms giving deep light penetration . I am researching to try and find out if I need to limit the panel wattage at 45watts or let this ride. Anyone have a brighter than normal Aerogarden light hood ? As of now I have disconnected it using another light in its place until I figure it out. Any thoughts or ideas would be great. Being that I am trying to save power usage I will stick to the AG 45watt light panel which is less intense and will not fry my little seedlings I am attempting to start.
