Hi ! Just getting back into growing. Years ago I had an early garden but my cats somehow got onto the wall shelf and kept eating my lettuce. So I want to start a small garden for them so to leave my garden alone. Any recommendations besides Catnip as 2 of my cats do not care for it?

Welcome and glad you joined us  Although I have not grown these yet for my pup, these are good for cats too. It is Burpee Buddies. Household pet friends will relish the homegrown flavor of Burpee’s Oat grass and Wheatgrass, and note your thoughtfulness. A flavorful, safe alternative to outdoor grasses and houseplants. If ANYONE wants some seeds, PM me I have plenty. Looking forward to seeing what gardens you are growing sussudio

UPS snuck past me today. Found my new Sprout I managed to snag on Groupon. And the is new model is fairly quiet. I understand the previous on is on Sale from various outlets for a few bucks cheaper but I understand they had a couple of issues that supposedly been resolved. Five minutes in to setting up and already the one cat snagged and disappeared with the dome covers🙄. Clear shot glasses are new replacements 😂😂

So far haven’t figured out how to post pics on Phone. But I do know that Aerogarden can make a ton more money by selling the caps as Cat Toys😂. My cats are going crazy over them . Going to Goodwill to pick up more Shot glasses..🙄 Meanwhile have to figure out why my lettuce has yet to sprout in my used Ultra. Nutrient level good... pump is working. But 8 days now. Since my local water is well water I am Supposedly using water that has been filtered from a local machine that has reverse osmosis. Now I’m wondering if the water machine is not up to par. So running out to get distilled water as replacement today.

I know depending on where you live and if you have a water softener or not can slow your gardens down a lot. Where I live I have been using regular tap water and thankfully it works out well. I know my brother had a water softener in his old house and he was able to use it for some plants but not others.
We have a thread Using a Photo Repository that shows how to use a couple of them along with adding pictures using TapATalk. I am not sure if that helps or not as I just use my flickR acct to add them on the computer. I do not think I ever tried using my phone yet  |

Thanks... I just wanted to show how the shot glasses just fit perfectly as domes. Just cover over snug. But easy to lift up to check on growth. So much nicer than the plastic. I will check though when growth appears to see if the glass “burns “ the sprouts. If this works my cats might have done me a favor. At Goodwill got 3 shot glasses on sale total only a Dollar.
