Sad thing is I let my last choy garden get too old. It seemed to turn on me so fast. So that one I had to toss and not harvest any. But onward and upward!

This is an updated picture. To my dismay, it turns out the pump wasn't working and the leaves started to wither and get weird around the edges. The machine was on a rack down by the floor so I didn't notice the lack of pump noise, and I definitely didn't get down on the floor, so I don't know how long it went on. So yesterday I moved the bowl to a working machine at normal counter level and it already looks better.
Oh, and the faulty machine? A Bounty, my newest...

The crop still looks very very good, Mary! I hope you had a spare on hand because they take a long time to arrive directly from the AG place.

I have replacement pumps on hand but didn't replace it yet because I haven't yet determined if it just might've been stuck on a funny watering timing cycle. Like maybe it never made it out of germination mode, or something. I only unplugged it and left it down below where I can't easily get to it. But Shawn you bring up a good point that I should check to see if it's still under warranty.

Also make sure it is not clogged up like mine was. Once cleaned it worked again.

Since we are on the topic of pumps that are doing poorly, I thought I would mention something that I found which saved me a lot of aggravation:
If you find that the water is not coming through all the pod wells to dampen the sponge,turn your pump dial up higher than the factory setting of '2', then make sure your cover is on securely, . That will give it bit more oomph.

Finally harvested this garden and made another entree salad for my husband. I added herbs to the greens and tossed with homemade ranch dressing, and topped it with steak, eggs, bacon, roasted tomatoes and peppers from the garden. I really shouldn’t have fed him so much. This was a bomb salad!   |
