For my custom flower GAL I chose 3 types of zinnias from Park Seed: 1) Crouching Tiger 2) Hidden Dragon 3) Envy Park Sponges, AG nutes I am not sure how many I should plant but I am using 7 holes of an LED, and if they get too crowded I will move some. Below are pictures from their website. The Envy is a risk because it can get to 2.5 feet, but I’m going to try it anyway because I love the color and I think it complements the others so nicely.

February 8. I’m happy that each one germinated. I did not keep track of which is which seed, so it’ll be a fun surprise! February 24. Pretty good progress in 16 days.

More buds! The plant on the far right is really much smaller for some reason. But it, too, has a bud so I’m not worried yet.

When one plant is smaller I usually move it to a different spot and put a larger one in the small spot (if I can move then with roots and what not). They usually catch up.

I now have open flowers! The “Envy” appears to be more yellow than lime colored, but that’s fine with me. I’m thinking the blooms should be bigger so I may increase their food a smidge. I’ve been feeding lightly.

Very pretty thus far and only to get more prettier as they grow.

Uh oh, they’re infested. I had an old pepper garden on the floor by it that got infested from lack of care and they migrated to this younger garden.

Me too. I was careless, because I know my gardens are prone to this in the spring.
