I’m not sure what the etiquette for the outdoor gardening section is, but these plants will all be moving outside after the last frost. I’m just starting them in the AeroGarden. For now they’re all in one unit of a Farm+. I’ll spread them out to other units as they grow and some of my other plants finish up. The plan is to move them into Kratky buckets outdoors as soon as weather permits. I’ve started... 1. Aji Charipita (via Baker Seed) 2. Sugar Rush (via Pucker Butt Pepper Co.) 3. Peach Habanero (via Baker Seed) 4. Carolina Reaper (via Chileplants, courtesy of Shawn)

HA, looking at your picture and I think I need to take a few of Mark's picks to help me get off my pod covers. Great use of them. Sheesh, we have them all over the place. Proxy you to bring one ones she found, I would find them in the dryer and so many other places. But I still rather had a ton of picks laying around then more guitars hanging LOL.

So only the Aji Charipita seeds sprouted on the first plant.
I replanted the Peach Habanero and Sugar Rush peppers last weekend. No signs of life yet from the replants. I doubled and currently have two pods of each hoping to get something.
Shawn also contacted me to let me know the Reaper seeds had been flagged as bad by the vendor. Fortunately for me Shawn was kind enough to send more from a new batch. I have yet to get this planted but I'm hoping to over the weekend.
If I don't see anything from the Peach Habanero or Sugar Rush by next weekend I'll have to contact the vendors I guess. This is the first issue I've had with seeds not sprouting.

After a replant and almost another week of waiting I still see no signs of life from the Peach Habanero or Sugar Rush plants. The two Aji Charipita sprouts look good. I’ll probably prune one this weekend when I plant the new Reaper seeds that Shawn sent. I guess I need to contact the seed vendors for the other two. Disappointing. I was hoping to already have a few weeks growth done by now.

How many seeds per pod did you use? I know I have placed two in a pod and neither germinated but retried and those did. Since then I make slices in the sponge to make the holes larger for the larger seeds.

I did plant two per pod for all of these. Should I try with only one seed?
How much room do they need?

I still plant with two seeds however I just give them a little more room. Any larger seeds I will open the hole up some by sniping at opposite corners and sometime in a criss-cross shape. This way if the seed germinated upside down it can easily ease it ways up.

This past Saturday morning I planted two new seeds of each of the three peppers that have yet to sprout for me. I went one per pod this time and cut the sponges to give more space.
As a backup I also put a third seed of each type in wet paper towels that are inside of ziploc bags resting on top of the lights of my Farm Plus units.
If none of these germinate I’m going to be pretty frustrated as I’m already a month behind where I hoped to be with these peppers.

It does happen at times. Do not let it get you too frustrated. I would contact the vendors IF these do not however. BUT I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that they do

Well the Aji Charipita is doing quite well. But the rest still have germinated. Not in the AGs and not in the paper towels. 🤷♂️ I contacted the seed vendors to ask about them and haven’t heard anything back yet. Meanwhile, I placed another order for different varieties of pepper seeds and shipped it via UPS (rather than letting USPS deliver like my other seeds). I’m trying to eliminate as many possible causes for this as I can. Hopefully the new peppers arrive quickly and sprout easily. I’m over a month behind now which just plain stinks.

nick , do I have any seeds in my Seed Stash list? I can share. Thank you but my new order from Puckerbutt Pepper Company is on the way. They're sending: - Ancient Sweet Orange - Golden Habanero - Organic - Smokin' Ed's Carolina Reaper® Seeds
I went with the "organic" Reapers just to make sure I was getting a different variety. They also refunded my previous order for the Sugar Rush Peach seeds and told me that other customers were also having trouble. They've taken them out of their store since I ordered.
Hopefully I'll hear back from Baker Seed about the Peach Habanero seeds.

nick , didn't the new seeds germinate for you? I planted two and both came up. Nope. No luck with those either. I really don't understand it. I've not had any trouble out of anything I've planted before now. The new seeds you sent have been in there for almost two weeks and there's not a single sign of life. I've also got some in paper towels. Nothing.

Both seed companies (Puckerbutt and Baker Seed) responded to me and let me know that both sets of seeds were giving customers problems. What are the chances that I’d pick two batches of bad seeds from two different vendors?! Both issues refunds to me promptly and were very easy to deal with. Kudos to them both for that. In the mean time my new seeds from Puckerbutt arrived via UPS today. I dropped two of each seed into single pods and planted them alongside the Aji Charipita tonight. And would you believe what I found when I did? Yup! One of the Reapers Shawn sent me finally sprouted! I really needed that little surprise tonight. It was a great pick me up. Hopefully these new seeds sprout quickly so they can be ready for the outdoors by the end of next month. 🤞

I’ve got four plants started now. I’ve had some really bad luck with my plans for these outdoor plants so I think I’ll just stick with these since they’ve honored me with life. Clearly they’re all in different stages (because of the aforementioned bad luck) but they should be ready to go by the time I am. The biggest plant is an Aji Charipita. It has struggled at times but I think I’ve got it in a good place now. The second biggest plant (back left) is the Carolina Reaper that Shawn sent. The sprout on the middle right is a Golden Habanero. The sprout on the middle left is a second Reaper that I didn’t really plan for, but it surprised me by sprouting. I’d rather have the Sweet Orange (bottom left) that still hasn’t germinated but if that doesn’t happen I guess I’ll just grow two Reapers and share the bounty with friends.

I think I’ve finally got peppers that are going to be okay to transplant outdoors! On the back left we have Reaper 1. Back right is the Aji Charipita. Front left is Reaper 2. Front right is the Golden Habanero. The pod with a dome is a Sweet Orange that never sprouted. I pulled it after taking the picture. I’ll be moving the two larger plants to jiffy peat pots tonight. I’ll get to the other two in another 2-3 weeks. All four will eventually be moved into one of the new Earthbox planters I purchased (thanks to MaryL’s beautiful tomato plants). Still waiting for weather to be conducive to the hardening process. Earthbox suggests planting hot peppers in a six per planter configuration so I may seek out two more seedlings from a local nursery. We’ll see.
