So... in a moment of weakness (or eminent wisdom?) I bought an Ultra during one of AGs seemingly never-ending, overlapping, proliferating sales and deals. I have been loving both my Bounty and Ultra models, but between the same grow deck vs. holes difference AND the fact that Ultra's can retain their clock if I unplug or lose power...and the price....I couldn't resist.
As a side note: I have now ordered from AG directly twice and in both instance it takes them dayyysss to process my order, but by the time I get the email, it is the day it arrives or the day before. I guess I am just impatient! No biggie, but just find it amusing/unnerving somehow at the same time.
Anyhow, trying to consider what to grow. The unit should arrive today or tomorrow, and I will likely plant it this weekend. I have a plethora of herbs....but my currently Herb Ultra is just starting to take off, so do not see needing two of those. My salad garden is on about day ~37 but it is still prolific...
I had ordered the "Jumbo Veggies" pod kit* last month alongside bok choy. According to AG's site the Jumbo veggies is: (1) each of mega cherry tomatoes, poblano pepper, and sweet bell pepper and can be grown in any tall garden (including the Ultra) but I cannot see being able to plant those 3 in an Ultra. Has anyone grown this kit? My thought was could start 2 (?) of them in the ultra and maybe move to the Bounty once the salad greens have exhausted themselves (based on others' experience, I am assuming 2 months to be the normal time on those).
I also have a lot of bok choy, and am considering growing that. The other night when I could not sleep, I was reading through several of the "sweet heat" threads and now kind of want to try that (but do not have the seeds or the grow anything kit, so that seems like something I'd have to wait for).
Any thoughts on the "Jumbo Veggies" kit and/or how much to grow in an Ultra...and the feasibility of moving machines a month in....would be appreciated!
*p.s. I assume the 3 pods and 10 spacers is meant ideally for a Farm Plus or Farm XL unit. As seems to be the case AG says a lot of things are possible, but in reality are not always "ideal" so some real-talk experience might help me!

Did you decide on what you wanted to grow?

I love my Harvests, Ultra and Bountys. I think you will also like the Ultra.
My advice to you (and anyone) is to only grow no more then Two large plants in an Ultra or Bounty. Two meaning TWO Peppers, TWO Tomatoes or ONE Pepper and ONE Tomato. Why? because they get full and will become cramps for space. The kits will give you more pods and can be used at a later date.
I have never tried bok choi so I can not speak on that.
As stated above, in a large machine I would not grow more then two of the jumbo plants. Also check the heights to make sure they will fit in a 24" hood height.
As for the pods vs. space count, I would assume that is for a farm since those kits are "geared" toward the farms. But if it states it can be grown in a Farm Plus (24" height) then it can be grown (or should be able to be grown) in a Ultra or Bounty.
I hope this helps.
Sorry it took so long to reply, I missed it and also have been a tad busy on this end.

Thank you, Shawn. Yes, from reading up here, I have learned for the Bounty and Ultras, 2 about does it. The Ultra did come-- so now have the 1 Bounty Elite and 2 Ultras. On the issue of the 3 pods "jumbo veggies", yes, the pod kit is made for the FarmXL and Farm Tall units. According to the AG site: "These TALL* vegetable plants require more growing space and best results are achieved when no more than 3 Seed Pods are planted in a 12 Pod garden; "*Plants can grow up to two feet tall. Requires a garden with 24” grow height (Works with Farm Plus (but not Farm, the Farm has 12" of grow height), all Extra models, Ultra models, Bounty models and previous model tall gardens) Maximum yields obtained in Bounty Model AeroGardens." When I bought most of my pod kits during the super sales after the holidays, that kit was ~$10 so figured a better deal and I knew I could just split them to different gardens. I did the same with some of the custom lettuce kits. Buying a 7 or 9 pod mix was almost same price as buying 12 pods...so figure store for future!! I DID (sort of) decide what to grow. I engaged with my indecision and took some risk. Given that you generously sent me some sweet heat seeds (will let you know when they arrive ), I decided I will grow those. However, I know peppers and tomatoes take a long time. And salad gardens are shorter lived. So, over the weekend, I planted the Sweet Bell pod, the heirloom tom., and the poblano pod from the "Jumbo Veggies" Kit. Once the Sweet Heat arrives, will also plant that. I figure by the time they actually germinate and get going, the lettuce garden might be dwindling (currently it is on day 43). While it is going strong, I am seeing less grow back since the last time I harvested over the weekend. So...once that garden is terminated, I will move two of those pods to the Bounty. According to the pod stamp, the Poblano is 7-12 day germination, the sweet bell is 8-14. The heirloom tomato does not say on the pod. Based on reading through peoples' posts and seeing gardens, it felt like not that risk to let 4 pods hang out together in the first few weeks. It has been a busy week so going to take some time today and tomorrow and set up threads for each of my three gardens in the "garden patch" section. Will post updates on the new Ultra once things happen!

Your post is dated Feb 27. Are there no pix to share? I'm considering buying an Ultra and would love to see some Ultra shots.
Thanks, Rick

Thanks, Rick I did buy the Ultra and am growing peppers in it. I have two Ultras going right now-- a Tomato / Pepper and two peppers. Both are in a thread in my garden patch section . I retired / terminated my herb garden and started peppers in the new one. I really love the Ultra unit. I own 1 bounty and the two Ultras. Its a nice machine and has some good features (like easier to reset garden status). It seems AG is phasing them out since they are no longer listed on the site. Where did you see yours listed? If you look at my garden patch, the threads of the Ultra Herb Garden (now retired) and the thread with the tomato/peppers have those shots.
