Just beginning my AeroGarden journey and haven't even made it out the door yet. Is the main difference between the Harvest Touch Classic and Harvest Elite Touch Classic mainly the Elite is SS and $20 more I don't see a way to compare models on their website.

Hi Nancy, Welcome! I totally get the (in)decision that goes into selecting the models! I do not own a Harvest, so other more experienced folks may know more/prove me wrong, but it is my understanding that you are correct the main/only difference between the two is the color/finish. The "elite" is a stainless steel" and sometimes comes in colors. The classic comes in various colors in a plastic/matte finish. I have a Bounty Elite (stainless steel) and I do like the finish, but no better than the two ultras (which are black plastic). They both have the same light (20w LCD) and have the same size extendable arm. Again, others with either or both models might know more or there might be some other differences. But I believe those to be the primary differences. Good luck!!

Hello and Welcome Nancy . Happy to have you here at AeroGarden Addicts with us. To answer your question, the two machines are the same with the exception of the finish. I have both. You will be happy with either you get. I love mine. To Compare their models, go here. Then for the first model shown (it can be a sprout or another machine). In the drop down menu under the picture, select the model you wish to compare. DO that for the second model shown as well.
Here is a very rough video that I hope can explain better (or at least a little)

Thanks for the compare map I ordered a Harvest Elite WiFi from Sur La Table. It had a really great sale price and I think it's a good beginner AeroGarden for me. I'm already looking at the Farms and I haven't even received the Harvest yet lol. I have a large amount of open wall/floor space since I finally rehomed my lifetime hobby of aquariums.

Nancy, the Harvest is a great machine and you got it at a great price. I look forward to watching what you grow along with you.

Nancy, you will love the machine I have no doubt. I got my Bounty through a Sur la Table deal a few months ago-- couldn't resist! It is really addicting and alluring. 2 months in and I am already purchased 3 machines and want more. So many things to grow...so little time... You will enjoy the machine. Do you know what you plan to grow?

My initial plan is to start with the herbs that come with it. I ordered some of the plant your own pods, just because... If I get a larger one, maybe the Farm, I would try spinach and bush beans. I'm not a big veggie eater, but those are two that I do like.

Awesome! I am growing the herbs that come with; and it is great. I think in the beginning it is easiest to start with the ready-made pods to get the hang of it. I have not grown spinach, but am growing a lot of lettuces and greens and they are quite easy, fast growing, and productive. The Farm is definitely appealing in terms of being able to grow larger stuff!

When I first started years ago I had a Sprout and used it for herbs. I then bought an Extra in which I planted peppers and tomatoes (tomatoes I killed LOL). I thought the Sprout for me was too small so I purchased the Harvest. I loved that unit so much I have several (as well as many other machines )
