I just received my Harvest Elite on yesterday. I was planning on planting some tomatoes and lettuce together, but I read in a FB group that you can't because of tomatoes being heavy feeders. What would you recommend growing together in the Harvest Elite?

People have grown peppers in the Harvest. You would want want that does not grow past 12" in height however. As for heavy feeders, I am assuming you mean water? If so, then that may be true. I have not grown tomatoes but I know peppers can be also. You just need to be vigilant in checking the water levels. Also I do not know if you would want to plant more then the tomato in harvest as it will over take it.
Do you have any tomatoes in mind? I know many have grown the AG heirlooms in them.
You can also check out this thread for some that may fit.
Sorry I can not help more with tomatoes. Take a look at the member gardens to see what they are growing. I am sure there are some that you can get an idea of how they grow.

In a Harvest I would only grow 1 tomato plant unless it’s the Might Mini tomato kit.

Our first crop in the Harvest was the Heirloom Salad Greens, sprouted quickly, and gave us quite a few salads and sandwiches, plus daily greens for a couple of pet finches.
I was wary of trying tomatoes in the Harvest because of the plant height, but have just bought a Bounty, and have started tomatoes in there, so can report on the height as they grow. The feeding suggestion for the tomatoes is 8ml at start, then 8ml after 14 days, then to up the food to (I think) 14 ml every 14 days, while the salad greens only need 8ml every 14 days, so maybe the reason not to grow tomatoes with other plants is the strength of the liquid food ?
Rather than using the blanking plates with the tomatoes, I’m using the empty holes to get some Marigolds started, as each gets to the point of potting on I’ll start some more. The Marigolds were started from a packet of seeds in empty sponges, and they’ve sprouted in 6 days and are now shooting up, while the tomatoes sprouted after 8 to 9 days.
Three of the tomatoes are Heirloom and one the Mighty Mini, so will be interesting to see the height difference.
I now also have a second Harvest machine, and have one planted with Heirloom salad greens (just sprouted after 4 days) and the original is now planted with various herbs (just starting to sprout after 7 days).
I don’t find the water top up to be an issue, the salad greens certainly started guzzling water once they reached the point of starting to crop, but I just made sure to top up the garden each evening rather than waiting for the water light to come on.
Happy gardening.
