I have a brand new, never used Aerogarden Pro200. I wonder if the seed kits get old, as this machine came with 4. Also, do the new seed pods fit this machine. I have an original Aerogarden that I loved for years. Just want to get back into using this new one.

Hello and welcome!
Let me try to answer your questions. Yes, seeds can and do get old. From looking at the manuals the current seed pods should fit this unit.
Please let us know what you decide to grow.

Keep the kits even if they’re old because you can still use them by putting your own seeds in them.

Seeds get old, but can still germinate - it depends on a lot of factors, and how they were stored (dark cool place is best). One workaround for old seeds that I find useful is to take them out and put them on wet paper towels, stick them in a ziplock bag (don't totally seal it, leave a little bit open for air) and see what sprouts. Probably more trouble than it's worth to pick them out of the pods, but a handy tip for packets that you might want to give a shot.
I have some 10 and 12 year old basil seeds from seed packets I had forgotten about in a cabinet that I tried this with, on a whim. I have more sprouted than I thought I'd get - now I'm trying to decide what amount of new Aerogardens my budget can handle!
