Hi all, I've just ordered the Sprout cuz I have a very small apartment with no room to move. Anyway, being new here I'm going to ask a lot of questions. Hope you don't mind. OK, I love fruit and veggies and want to grow some fruit. I've ordered my unit with tomatoes and have also ordered strawberries from Amazon. My first question is, what other fruits can I grow? I like apples but I won't be able to grow an apple tree. LOL I like avocados but can't do that either so what fruits can I grow?
Thanks, guys,

Congrats on the Sprout purchase.
I have not personally grown any fruit. However some have grown and tried to grow some fruits however you would need a large machine so do so. Even then they may need taming or transplanting. I have seen some try blueberries, baby watermelon and pumpkins. I know you can grow cucumbers. Yes while thought of as a vegetable they are considered a fruit to a botanist

Fruit would require a lot stronger light hood and height like the Bounty or Farm.
Most of the fruit is novelty..you won;t get very much like a 'crop'...even with a grow bowl with the chips. Most fruit are from trees or bushes, so if you do squeeze out a few fruit, it will be way less than a cup after months of growing.
If anyone has been successful at growing fruit I would love to hear from them, but so far I have not found any to be successful past the novelty class.
But..you can START fruit trees and bushes and plants in your machines, and if you have a porch or very sunny window, you can plant them in a pot and have it fruit better as a soil potted project.
This is a popular question and AG has addressed it somewhat, here

The question was posed and answered in 2017 and urged growers to check out future catalogs. They Do look for alternatives, though, because they say Kale cannot be grown. But last year they came out with a mixed Kale Kit. One CAN grow smaller sized stuff if one knows how to shop for seed varieties(thanks Shawn for that thread on suggested seeds) But fruit will be novelty sized and of scant quantity unless things like the nutrients are altered (among other things). Yet, if one wants to try it just for the fun of it..jump on in.

Welcome grindre! Though I mostly grow herbs, I really enjoy growing ittle veggies too. Some favorites of mine are Mini Munch cucumbers (actually a fruit as Shawn pointed out), mini eggplants and snow peas. You can find examples of them and the seed vendors I used in my garden section here aerogardenaddicts.com/board/28/marys-garden (Shawn feel free to shorten that link). I do not have experience growing sweet fruits either indoors or out. Welcome, and ask away! I hope you love your Sprout as much as I love mine.

I've tried both strawberries and blueberries and in both cases I didn't feel the work was worth the effort. I could see doing strawberries again, but I would dedicate several AGs or use a different kind of setup so that I can rotate the plants and get more volume of fruit.

Did you see the link I posted about not using the grow bowl? Just curious if you tried this method.

I haven't but I'm not convinced that one or two more plants would help. It was a fun project, just not viable as a reliable source of fruit. I think that's why strawberry towers are so popular- the plants can be tightly packed together but you do need a lot of them.

In the 'real' world outside it rains and the dew accumulates in the mornings. Is it a good idea to mist the leaves in an AeroGarden in an attempt to simulate the 'real' world outside?

You shouldn't need to- the plants are getting way more water than they would outside. On the flip side, it won't hurt. I imagine whether or not it would be have a positive effect will depend on the variety of plant.
