I have been over thinking things again!, 2x farm units, each tank take 2 gals to fill 24ml food, every 14 days/rinse & fill plants are now good size and its not uncommon to add 1/2 gal water each day about 7 gals between feed, how come we are not adding some feed with the top up water?
Also my cherry toms are at 70 days and no colour change yet, how long until I see red!...

Wow, you do a rinse and refill every two weeks? Usually it is every other feeding. Do you do that by personal choice? If not, you wound save on water and nutrients.
As for feeding, some members add mutes to a container of water and use for topping off. I have done that in the past, but have not in a long time.

I have a pump syphon, its very quick to drain and refill, so try to do it each time when I remember, I use the water over the grass figure some feed will still be in there.
I may give it 7 days then top the tom section with some booster food see how it goes.

Also my cherry toms are at 70 days and no colour change yet, how long until I see red!... I have limited experience, but I will say I am currently growing the heirloom cherry tomato pod kit and I started seeing red in the mid-day 40s. I am on day 53 and have harvested 2 and have about 5 or so getting red. From my limited observation, once they start to turn they go from a little red to full red in a few days. Any photos? As to your question about why when we top off we do not add more nutes... I wondered that myself. From what have absorbed (probably only partially), some of it is that the nutes are decided to be buffered and 'in solution', so keep the same level of water helps the plants absorb the nutrients (I may be getting the terms and science off here, but I think the end result is correct). I think the idea is that they may be drinking a lot of water, but not all of the nutrients? I think it depends on how your plants are looking. If they are looking like they are having deficiencies and you are adding a lot of water, then maybe putting some nutes in the water you use to top off is a good idea? I think it is all about experimentation and finding what works for you, your water, your set up...
