We have a very very old Classic 6 (it has the old style lamps) and are going to dust it off (sanitize!) and get some herb kits. It pretty much looks like this: www.amazon.com/AeroGarden-Classic-Gourmet-Herb-Seed/dp/B010NBJMLI?th=1With 4 pod slots at the front, and 2 in the back. We are wanting to get the following herbs. Considering the size of the unit, what's a good way to lay out the pods to leave enough room? Are 6 too many? - Genovese Basil
- Mint
- Parsley
- Cilantro
- Rosemary
- Chives

One thing I have learned here about the old CFL Units is that they do not grow as fast (from what I have heard).
However with that said, I would place the Genovese in the back as that will grow tall and faster then the other herbs. Cilantro and Rosemary can be a bear to grow meaning it can take a lot longer. I would place those in the front. Check the germination dates on the others and place the taller of them and the faster germinator in the front next to the Basil.
Others may have better layouts, this is just a suggestion.

Thank you! Since we dropped big bucks on the Farm XL, we thought we’d save a little money by dusting off the old one with CFL bulbs. Better than nothing! We’re planning on using the XL for the bell peppers / veggies kit, so that won’t leave us with a ton of extra room. Thanks so much for the suggested layout. We hope to get out XL this weekend, I’m excited!!
