We have a 6 month old very inquisitive cat who will lie down anywhere from the fireplace mantle, the top of my piano and anywhere else he feels looks good. I am worried about him and my Aerogardens. Anyone have any good ideas to keep a cat off of a garden???

I have heard of cats playing in the gardens. Some people place some wires around, others use a trellis to block it. And then there are some cats that never bother it at all.
We had a dog, she would just sniff and walk away at first. Then never bothered.

Among mammals, hot peppers pretty much go unmolested. But, no, my cat is perfectly happy to wander around the garden, but does not seem interested in the plant itself

We have two 1yr old kittens. They would chew at our dill but they've never bothered the flowers, cukes, or peppers.

I don;t have pets, but I have read that growing catnip in a separate pot will take care of them trying to investigate the AG's.

We've put ours in the basement to avoid cat-astrophes.  Our male cat couldn't care less, but our girl is super inquisitive. Since things spring up so quickly, they probably won't bother trying to lay on the bed once things 'get in their way'. But you may need to be cautious of any plants that may be harmful to cats, in case he decides to go in for a nibble. |

So far so good! I started two gardens today, side by side. My cat found my computer mouse on our kitchen table and knocked it on the floor for something to play with.

Thanks for reminding me of this. I need to find a bird cage or something similar to keep Pirate out of mine when it gets here.
