I saw this on Facebook: Hamama Grow TrayAnyone heard of this? For those of us who love greens, I thought it was pretty cool. From the video it seems it is a bamboo frame, bpa-free plastic tray. Add water and a "seed" quilt. Microgreens ready to harvest in a week. However, microgreens do not regrow, so it is one harvest and done. They have a subscription and one-time option. Also says does not require much light (so no special grow light)-- will grow from sunlight in a window or from a 'normal' ceiling light. I wonder how true this is. The subscription option is $17 for 3 "quilts". Not sure how much greens you get (hard to tell from the video and pics). I still love the idea of more and more companies company coming out with in-home organic ways for people to grow scalable produce! There is also no waste; the quilts are compostable. I definitely like that. Anyhow, thought I would share!

That made me itch looking at it! Just gave me the willies the way it came up LOL. But that put me in mind of the large salad boxes I have for winter for my lettuce and choi! Soon it will be time to start that up. I suppose if I was a sprout person I would appreciate the accelerated video more.

I agree the 'time-lapse' video and the way they sort of peel off the top made me feel like I was watching a sci-fi movie/life in space. Yes, it reminded me of a similar idea of the salad boxes I have read folks here talk about it.

I have the chef'n microgreens tray, I like this one since it has drainage holes. I use coco as the growing medium, but you can definitely use the pre seeded mats. Dampen the growing medium, sprinkle seeds on top, cover with clear plastic and place in indirect light for a few days. Once they're sprouted, uncover them and harvest when they're a couple inches tall. Here a photo of mine, they turn out great every time! You should be able to find the "grow pads" from other sources as well for a cleaner approach than growing medium.

Microgreens taste a lot like their full grown counterparts. My favorites so far have been radish (tastes like a spicy radish), pea (awesome for stir fries), basil (just mini basil), and sunflower (great pistachio flavor).

I love growing (and eating) microgreens. They're so healthy! I've grown them both on hemp (?) pads and on dirt.
The only problem is that they seem to attract bugs. Have any of you had that problem?
