Are you using the trellis or any other form of support? No but I seriously ought to start now because they’re very heavy with fruit and the Italia wants to topple over soon.

They’re getting there, but this is the unit with the flashing defective hood, and I don’t know if that’s affecting the plants at this point. At least now the Italia is catching up color wise. Costa Rican Sweet Italia

Well, it appears that the strobing hood did affect the health of the plant, despite what the company told me. The leaves are all drooping and look terrible. And this pic is after I cut off some of the worst leaves. At this point I just want it to at least last through this first harvest. Very disappointed in the lack of effort by the company.

It's been a long time since I grew the Costa Ricans. But they are a wonderful tasting sweet pepper. I hope you truly enjoy your meal with them. I made a cream cheese/corn bread/herb stuffing that was wonderful with them.

Definite difference w/o a properly working unit. What if you had the unit run w/o the light in front of a window just for a few weeks until the end of the project? Maybe you could end another project early and transfer the reservoir to a working machine? That project is doing SO WELL it would be a shame to have it fail now.

Fortunately I did just yesterday transfer the basin to another working LED. I hope it can recover. I’ve been waiting so long for these beauties! Especially the Costa Ricans. They have the best flavor.

Sadly my sister just texted this to me today. She’s watering my gardens while I’m gone.

Is there Nutes and water in there? Can she check to make sure the water is not too hot. Add a few ice cubes to it.

Yes it got it’s full nutes last week. She’s already gone to head back to the West Side (always horrible LA traffic). I shouldn’t be too surprised - when I touched the peppers last week they felt a little squishy. The plant was already in distress. I will harvest and enjoy the almost all-ripe Costa Ricans as soon as I get back, and hope the Italia holds out long enough to ripen somewhat. That plant has a little more life left in it, from the looks of it.

looks like they are thirsty I just went back in the thread and saw that this is the strobing project. I think there is more going on than the plants being thirsty like I initially thought. I hope there is a remedy..it would be a shame after all these months to have it TOTALLY flop.

looks like they are thirsty No there was full water. I topped off Thursday night and Friday at noon, and my sister came yesterday (Sunday) so they only went one day without attention.

I really need to read post in context. Many times the notification of new posts come into my email, I click on the site and read the new post. Doing that I miss so much valuable connecting info!

When you come to the forum, click on the Recent Threads at the top of the page. Then click on the word "new" to the left of the thread and it SHOULD take you to the first unread post within that thread. I have not tested it out, maybe I should

LOL its not the navigation feature..it's my memory of what went on BEFORE the new posts.(as she contemplates going to the salon to cover up the beginning gray!)
