I have got this machine loaded with pepper and tomato seeds. I will break these out to their own separate gardens when they start to crowd. I have 4 kinds of peppers and 2 types of tomatoes.
I planted Shawn's Sheepnose and Golden Greek (thanks Shawn!), Italia, Costa Rican Sweet, an AG Heirloom Cherry tomato and an AG Golden Harvest Cherry. Oh, and with the extra hole I popped in a Tasty Jade cucumber. That'll be the first one to go.

Indeed. Those Jades waste no time in taking over an entire Aerogarden.

The cucumber is nearly ready to get its own machine. I might put it one of my new Harvests. Meanwhile, as usual, the peppers are the slowest to join the party. I can see germination in the Golden Greek but not yet in the Sheepnose. I put a 2nd seed in the Sheepnose pod the other day just in case.

Lovely! I am starting some herbs in the machine for a windowsill soil project in the kitchen, but this makes me want to toss a Jade in the machine after they are transplanted....hmmmm

Looking back my Sheepnose took a while to come up. it took about a month. That’s what I was thinking. And it’s only been about 2 weeks.

Yes hopefully that won’t develop here in the coming weeks. Fingers crossed.

I have moved all the cousins out of the machine so now we have 2 pepper plants remaining. The Italia and the Costa Rican Sweet. They have a similar growth habit so should be a good match. These didn’t do well outside this year so I’m looking forward to seeing them here.

First buds on the Italia. I neglected to take a picture of the garden as a whole. I hadn’t realized until now how much bigger it got since the last picture.

Here are the plants overall. Much bigger than on the 5th. Assuming I took the last shot contemporaneous with that post.

I’m hoping the buds are producing some flowers in that jungle. I’ll have to go hunting inside there. This is around 6 weeks.

Do you think I should cut off some of the biggest leaves at this point? Or not yet?
