Hi all. Total newbie here. I have a 6 pod AeroGarden and grew the herbs it came with, having varied success. I’ve moved on to cherry tomatoes. Started plants on 10/31 and all are (were) looking great. Last night I uncovered one which had reached the top of its dome. It had about 4-5 healthy looking sprouts with leaves. When I came down this morning, there were 4-5 stems with no leaves to be seen. They were just hacked off The ones still covered are looking fine but I’m afraid to uncover them! I don’t have a cat. What ate my leaves in just 8 hours?

if you have plants in the house taken in from outside, there's your answer....earwigs would be a classic example..dampness, chowing down under cover of darkness. and it is best not to leave the domes on so that the plants touch the top!

I don’t have plants from outside but there are some older, scragglier plants near them I will move them. What else can I do if it is earwigs? Thanks so much for your help!

If it were me, I'd start over fresh, but first give the machine a thorough sanitizing.Earwigs or anything else, it seems like something has taken up home in your machine and is eating away...especially if the leaves all disappeared overnight.

I am sorry this happened. Corinne has some good advice.
While many do bring plants in from outside whether from a garden or store, it is just my personal preference not to. In my last home people have brought us plants and we were infested with something. Got rid of them and the bugs went away. Since that time I do not let plant inside unless I grow them in my AG.
