I fell in love with my Farm XL! I have never so easily produced something I can eat in so short a time!
I planted the mixed greens the day after Christmas in one side and some tomatoes in the other and everything is growing so well that I moved cuttings and seed starts from my greenhouse into the farm.
I'm not new to hydroponics/aeroponics but this is the easiest way to do it.
On that note, is anyone using these in the classroom? My DWC tomatoes died over the break and it's just too time consuming to try them again, it took this long to get them into flowering mode and we are haflway through the school year!
I have started searching for funding to buy an XL for my classroom so, before I go convince anymore people, are there downsides to using a Farm in the classroom? I teach Tech so I can fit this into my classroom sooo many ways...

I do not know anyone personally, but I have seen online meant teachers using this from young ages to older in the classroom with success. Of course some failures but they fail with termination or the plant dying. I guess that's all part of the learning process.

I took the Harvest I got on the Woot deal and started two pods. I will see how the kids take it!

I'm teaching middle school 6-8th grade.
I was growing DWC tomatoes and some of my kids were very excited about it.
I started mint and Thai basil today in my Harvest 360. Waiting on some sponges to arrive in the mail and I will try some spinach and cilantro seeds I have. Looking for interesting leaves and strong scents!

Would there really be a point (other than size) do go with a Farm or Farm plus when the current pricing for a Farm XL is only $60 more than a Farm and $10 more than a Farm Plus?

I have a small unit in my classroom (8th grade) and the kids love it. They love seeing how fast the plants grow. I have kids begging me to bring in tomatoes and peppers from my home garden, so I might get a bounty or something for a tomato and pepper plant. It's ridiculous, but I have a trio of boys that come in and do this silly synchronized "plant dance" in front of the unit before class starts to get the plants to grow. Because that's how it works, obviously :P

They were misting the plants and cleaning the leaves but those tasks could only be done if they had a good day. It was amazing!

I think they would be great for special needs children. I know someone who has an autistic child, bought a Herbie and the child is responding very well to it.

My baby sister is a teacher. I am going to pass this info along to her.
The difference tending the AG made with the disruptive little boys would really resonate with her. 🥰
