Day 9~ 5 of the 7 pods have al germinated. The Gen. Basil has no life yet (I do not even see a seed in there) and the Curley Parsley looks like it is started to shed its exo-seed. The "Thai Basil" was the first to germinate-- not surprise. I put it in quotes because last year when I grew Thai Basil it was actually Genovese basil in the pod. 2020-02-07_01-08-15 by Aaron Blasyak, on Flickr The two chive pods will probably have domes removed soon-ish as they will probably touch the dome by tomorrow. I am happy the dill germinated! More when things happen...

Yours look good. At 7 days, all I have is thai basil, dill and thyme. My least favorites, btw! I am happy with the progress By this time in the last time I did herbs, the Basil and a few otherws were a bit further along, but several others had not sprouted at all. As of this morning ALL except the Bail have germinated. I am convinced there is no seed in the Basil pod (this has happened before). Once they get going they grow fast. Both chives are have hit the dome tops, so those were removed. I am happy both the Dill and Parsley have germinated! I recall reading others' thread in the past and those do not always do well. The dill is very thin (normal likely) so I am cautiously eyeing it. What I love about the AG pods is that even if they do not germinate or grow right, they'll pop some replacements in the mail. I usually always get them in the matter of a few days. It's funny you mentioned the thyme being your least favorite! When I grew it last year, I really had no idea what to do with it... I do not use it much in cooking and all I kept thinking was like Chicken dishes (Which I do not eat meat), so was adding it to everything (eggs, I tried to make some "thyme tofu", even as a little pop of flavor in salads. It was a big hit for me in terms of it grows fast, is hardy, and is this beautiful fecund little bush. I loved growing it, I just did not use most of it. But it is definitely a plant you do not have to worry too much about because it just seems to grow like nobody's business!

I thought of putting the thyme in a container of mixed flowers this spring and see how it does there. Will also put my dill near container bok choy, as it's supposed to repel cabbage loopers. That way, if I want it I can get to it without it taking up valuable AG space.

Day 15~ Nutes were added yesterday (6 ml). Things are looking good over all. This garden is growing quite a bit slower than the time around, but more even...which is probably good. 2020-02-13_09-24-01 by Aaron Blasyak, on Flickr As I suspected, the Gen. Basil pod had no seed in it. So, sometime last week I replaced with another AG Gen. Basil pod. As you can see, that one has germinated and is peeping behind the label. 2020-02-13_09-24-31 by Aaron Blasyak, on Flickr The Curley Parsley (and the bottom of the photo) is also slowly growing. The Thai Basil seems to have A LOT OF seedlings. I am not sure if I should wait to thin until some are larger, or thin a few now. There are like...at least 4 if not 5 or 6... Everything is growing well, if not a bit slowly. I know from the last time I grew herbs to thin the basil, but do people thin Dill or Parsley? Thoughts/experience/feedback appreciated!

I also have LOTS of thai basil sprouting. And am looking forward to seeing answers about thinning dill and parsley.

You can thin the basil down if you want now. Keep the healthiest one. I do not grow dill so can not help with that. I honestly do not remember if I trimmed the parsley
There are videos n pruning herbs here.

I did thin the 6 basils down to 2...and will see which one wins out between those over the coming week.
Looking at AG Parsley plants, I do not think people thin them. I looked at those pruning videos and it seems people have multiple stalks growing. The Dill I cannot see. I think with Basil the primary reason to thin it is because it is so productive and grows large.

I don't thin cilantro and that grows like parsley. I most likely should thin my cilantro because it gets massive thick but I used it all

I have been super MIA and derelict in posting any updates or pics on my gardens this year! The Herb Garden is still growing strong on Day ~99~. Here is a photo from this morning: 2020-05-08_10-52-39 by Aaron Blasyak, on Flickr 2020-05-08_10-53-00 by Aaron Blasyak, on Flickr The Dill was really prolific and tall most of the time, so have been cutting it down and using it a ton. Now it is less so and probably on its last legs. The Thai Basil (in the back left) I have harvested a ton and keeps growing and growing. The two Parsleys took a long time to really fill out, but now are pretty bushy. I have not harvested THAT much but can start to use more. The Gen. Basil, I have BARELY harvested because it got overshadowed by the Thai Basil. I am waiting for more consistently warm and sunny days to transplant some of them (the two basils) to pots on the balcony. The weather here has been up and down and mostly rainy, so do not want to transplant yet. These have been pretty low maintenance and easy. It looks really full as I have not harvested much for a week. I have been making a lot of curries to use the thai basil. This garden will likely go for a few more weeks, but have eyes on transplanting to free up some space.

Don't you just love it when a project thrives?
And being able to transplant it outside when you are ready to move on is a big bonus!

Yes!!I do! It makes me so happy! I transplanted my winter herb garden last year around this time and they did well. The only reason those herbs died in plants, is I kept forgetting to water them. Also, my balcony and where I live is windy so they would get knocked over. Eventually I just let them go when I went on vacation. Am hoping by next week, we have consistently warm enough temps to transplant. I am actually really looking forward to what the Thai Basil might do in a pot of its own as it branches out and loves to spread. It also has shown no signs of losing its flavor or getting ugly. The smell to me is very nostalgic. Reminds me of having Vietnamese Pho back home, in friends' houses, when growing up. I will definitely post pics when they get transplanted!
