WE have life! 


Several of the pods have sprouted. The "Speedy Rocket" already have a tiny 4 leave sprout! The mustard has a seedling emerging and the Lacinato Kale also has something emerging. The rest I can see some signs as well! 

Yes, I love them in the first few days/week when you see major growth everyday. It makes me feel alive haha.

Looking forward to seeing how it goes.  Although I am not a vegetarian, I can never get enough greens, either,

Day 15~



Nutes (8 ml) added yesterday. This one is really coming along well. All the pods (except the cress) are growing full and evenly. I am happy with how the Kale(s) and Chards are coming in. When I grew the Kale last time...two from AG (Kale nd Mixed Kale) and one from Park's (Lacinato) they did not produce a ton. So far, these are looking good.


Not sure why the cress is so far behind. As of now, I am mildly worried the others are going to start blocking the light. I may have to move one of the salad greens that is more advanced out to give this one more space and light. We will see.

I am looking forward to possible being able to harvest some small amount in a week or week and half. I am going out of town in two weeks for a few days (for a conference) and then will be back for 2 days before going out for a week. Am hoping I can harvest enough to have it grown back by when I get back. I THINK the timing will work well.

Will update when am ready for a harvest...if not sooner.

Day 99~


So this greens garden is still going strong. I was harvesting a lot of leaves last month and was contemplating terminating it, but decided to see how much it would grow back. Interestingly, many of the pods (the Kales and Chards) have grown back bigger and fuller. The Kale leaves, while tasty, were mostly growing small and stem-y and once got big, they would yellow. They have grown back nicely, as has the chard!


I will keep this going for a while, although the arugula is all stems and barely any leaves, so will remove that pod soon and leave open.

They are quite untidy and in need of some harvesting. Not sure how much longer these will go. I assume once I do another major harvest they will probably be (mostly) done. But the chard seems to grown back and back, so we will see. 

By accident, I added too much nutes (12 ml) the last time, but the plants look great, so am thinking next time around, once they are mature, may add more nutes. According the AG instructions, Bounties can do 12ml after the first 2 feedings, but I have never added that much as it seemed to creates issues with the lettuces. I had read somewhere on here that greens need a lot more nutes than lettuce, and I think that seems true. Also, this garden is drinking water like CRAZY. I am adding a gallon every day or two (morning on one day and late night on the next day then then morning 2 days later). I hate having to add water so much, but love when they drink up so much water. Makes me feel healthier when I eat them.
