Not so much aerogarden, but these guys were started and transplanted to the garden and they are making me so happy! Everything I read says sunflowers must be sown in place, I had really good luck with these though. Starting inside got them past the squirrel and bunny food stage.

My squirrels, bunnies and deer are already making themselves known. One squirrel came onto the deck and dug giant holes all the way down to the plastic mesh in the bottom of my self watering containers. Fortunately nothing was planted in them yet.
The sunflower looks so happy! Glad you beat the bunnies and the squirrels with it!

So nice. How tall are they? We are supposed to get a fence installed (I have no clue when with all work stopped) and want to plant sunflowers in the back far corner.

These were part of a kit my sons got for Christmas so I'm not sure of the variety. They are about 3 feet tall right now, I have them transplanted into my "hot peppermint" stock tank so the head is about 5 feet off the ground. I had cayenne peppers growing in the stock tank last year and after one too many times of touching my face after messing with them, I let mother nature deal with the plant, then some mint got in there.... hot peppermint tank...

I envy you there in Virginia. We are supposed to get 1-2 inches of April snow tonight! Gotta bring in all my seedlings and place them under the lights so they don;t catch a cold!

I spent a couple of winters in Rhode Island and central NY, I don't envy you!
We had a frost warning last night but it only got to 36. Our average last frost is April 15th but we have been frost free since February. I worry that we didn't get enough chill hours for my apples this year and I haven't seen anything from my milkweed (those seeds need a certain number of chill hours too).

The decorative cherry trees are all in blossom, as are the magnolias and daffodills. I just put all my plants inside on the grow racks. I remember having snow in May years back , so I am not surprised. But Sunday, after the snow it will go up to 0, so I am hoping I dont have to go and retrieve the shovel.
