Were you able to get that deck apart easily? I seem to have a tough time. I notice that the decks I have taken apart twice now not only get white sediment around the rim, but green algae around that seam. Light is getting in there from prying it apart. But it seems like it is a necessity. I think though , that I am not going to pry it off UNLESS a well is not dripping water when it comes time for a new project. I am inspired to grow another Jade project.

I was getting that green algae in that seam from day one on my Bounty and Extra without ever taking the deck apart. I bought some black masking tape that I am going to try placing over those seams to see if it helps stop it. Doubt it as the water will still seep up I think.

I got algae from day one in 2 of my Harvests without having separated the deck. I was very surprised. But with regard to ease of separation, I found the Harvest much easier to separate than the bigger decks. With the bigger decks I have to wear surgical type rubber gloves in order to assist in getting enough purchase and force to get the tabs to give. Otherwise it is too painful on my fingertips. But now look look at my sad garden. It has completely given out, just as it was developing a beautiful cuke.

This project has lasted for some time, since October. Hopefully it will last enough for this cuke to mature more.

Well, I do need an available machine pretty soon to take in all the herbs I have in the pepper GAL, because they’re getting big! Maybe that’s what fate had in mind for this little guy - to give up his space to others who will benefit more.
