I just trimmed my nap and g basil to one plant. That hurt me a little. Lol. I was so proud! My g basil had 8 plants!!! I know it's for the best. Cap came off the thyme. Chives are still growing like crazy. I thought they were all up but one short sneaky one creeped up. Should be standing straight in a day or two. That makes 10 stalks.

Yes, the first couple of times it hurts a little to trim out. But it is a wonderful feeling to grow your own garden.

It is SO much fun to share your first garden experience. Once you learn to prune and see the resulting improvement in growth, you are past the beginner stage!

I just trimmed them a smidge because they were getting close to the lights!

So, how do I go about raising the lights? I've trimmed the chives about 5 times because they keep growing tall. The Nap. Basil is slower after pruning...but the Rosemary is still so low. Will the Rosemary be OK if the lights are raised for the other plants when it comes time? Day 25 is today.

Just raise the lights. Rosemary is VERY slow and it will grow. I have had the lights fully raised and my rosemary did just fine

Those little "clips" on the back of the metal tube will flip open, and then you'll be able to pull on the tube gently to raise the lights. Just click the clips back into place to hold the lights up.
