Hello, I was given a used aerogarden 7 in good shape. I cleaned it, filled it, and plugged it in. The pump works fine but the lights wouldn't turn on so I assumed the CFL's needed to be replaced. I received my new CFL's and they still wont turn on. i opened it up to check all the wiring and connections and everything looks great. I didn't get a book with it, am i missing something? I've also inspected all the plugs and connectors, all looks good. any help would be much appreciated! thanks

Hydrodaddy, I am not familiar with the Aerogardens that use the CFLs. Hopefully someone will be along soon with an answer for you.
And welcome!

Hello and welcome. I too do not own any CFL units. We do have member who have. If you bought new bulbs and they do not work I would think there is something wrong with something somewhere. You can have a bad connector and not know it. I do not know if this is your unit but look at this manual or this one
If neither, check out the Manuals and Guides Board

Hi:
I finally set up my Farm XL on Sunday, July 26.
Today, July 28, I tried to adjust the light on the right side of my Farm XL and it did not go up.
Is there a way to troubleshoot this problem and fix it?

Sometimes the lights are a little finicky. Try pushing the light hood toward the AG unit. There are two connector pins that sometimes do not make proper contact. That is all I can think of at this time. I hope it works for you.

I tried to apply gentle pressure to the back of the light while pushing the UP button...the light is now in the down position. Is that what you mean by trying pushing the light towards the AG unit?
Where exactly are the connector pins? My neighbour upstairs assisted me with set-up so I am clueless.

I do not have a farm, but here is a guide. If it is still not working after reassembling, if it were me, I would all them...the unit may be defective .

The arm of the unit that raises and lowers the light has two metal connector pins where it connects to the base unit. Try pushing the arm firmly toward the base unit to see if the lights go on. It may or may not work, but it is worth a try.

I have had one of my aerogardens since 2014/2015. I remember it doing the lights not turning thing once and it turned out to be SUPER SIMPLE. But it's doing it again and I can't figure out how to remove and reinstall the lamp arm. I think that was the magic bullet last time. For reference: www.aerogarden.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/Extra-QSG-2013.pdf. (Took forever to find this for an old AG!)

I don't have any 7s anymore. But they have metal contacts that meet in the arm section, perhaps top and bottom. I believe they were brass contacts. The power for those lights pass through those contacts After this amount of time, those contacts are probably corroded. I'd try to clean those contacts.
