I just purchased a new Aerogarden Harvest and was wondering what hot pepper varieties that people would recommend. The light only allows for 12 inch clearance. I am currently growing jalapeno plants in another harvest (they are growing past the lights) and would like to try another variety. Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated. Also, anyone who has extra seeds, I would love to try out your variety and pay you for shipping. Thanks in advance.

Sweet Heats would fit into the Harvest. I have not grown them in a Harvest but I believe if you do a search on the forum you will see some in that unit.

Thanks Shawn. I will do a search. My jalapenos do not really fit in the harvest. I have a light above my harvest that the plants are reaching up to!

I am also growing Sweet Heats from seeds Shawn gave me. They are sweet peppers with a kick, about 320 Scovilles.
They are beautiful, small, very prolific plants. I highly recommend them.
If you want something hotter to grow in a Harvest, you might ask mike, our Pepper King, for suggestions.

Thanks Sher. Sweet heats sound awesome to me. Just what I am looking for. I am always looking for something new to try.

Sweet Heat Peppers are the only 12" peppers I've grown. However, you can prune many 2-ft. peppers to grow in a 12" garden. Reimer Seeds has a page with 12-24" pepper plants as hot as habanero. www.reimerseeds.com/small-hot-pepper-plants.aspx

Thanks Mike. I hear that you are the pepper expert! I am going to check out the link and find something that looks good. I do not like the taste of habanero much. I will see what I can find. Sweet heats are going to be my first try and then hopefully i will find something else that I can keep short so that it grows in the Harvest.
